About this file

This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) file from a site visit conducted for federal contract opportunity FA461326Q1014, SAPR Security Refresh. The Q&A addresses client requirements and clarifications across three primary categories: cameras, monitors, door sensors, and miscellaneous infrastructure items.

For camera requirements, the client specified that detection settings for people or objects are not necessary, and pan-tilt-zoom capabilities are not required as cameras will remain fixed in one direction. An extra camera in the conference room must be removed, and no camera coverage is needed for the basement bathroom or storage section. Camera display output should be in color (preferred), though color selection is not mandatory. Night vision is optional but not required. Regarding monitors, the client confirmed that monitors are not needed in the basement. For door sensors, the client requested wired installation (not wireless) with notification capability on monitors when motion or door activity is detected. Motion detection sensors in the basement are currently non-operational and require activation. Door sensors do not need to connect to Security Forces. For infrastructure, the client designated the Communications Room in the basement as the network closet location and confirmed that Base Cabling has authorized use of an existing wall hole for cabling entry into the Communications Room, with the contractor responsible for managing remaining cabling specifications and equipment support.

Question: Do you want motion detection?

Answer: Yes, it would be nice to have an alert on the screen that there is motion somewhere.

Question: Will the use of Wireless Door Sensors with 2-5 years battery life be acceptable or will we be hard wiring the Door sensors into the existing infrastructure, or building the end to end and will the door sensors be read from specific access/ monitoring points?

Answer: We would like the door sensors to be wired. There is no specific monitoring point, but we would like some sort of notification on the monitors if it is possible.

Miscellaneous:

Question: Where do we want the network closet?

Answer: There is a Communications Room in the basement that we will use as the network closet. The contractor will need to supply support for whatever equipment they are installing.

Question: How is the cabling going to get into the Comm Room?

Answer: We have permission from Base Cabling to use the hole in the wall that is already being used in order to get into the Comm Room. Specifics beyond that will be up to the contractor.
