About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation FA480026Q0024 concerning the Building 602 Access Control System (ACS) project. The document does not contain pricing information, response dates, award dates, or set-asides, as it addresses clarifications on facility characteristics and project requirements rather than procurement terms.
The facility is a 111,672 square-foot building constructed in 1969 with stable power supplied by new wiring throughout. The structure features dropped ceilings in all areas, brick perimeter walls, metal and concrete-filled door frames, and existing cable trays above ceilings. New cabling infrastructure is required, as no existing cabling or IDS sensors are present. Conduit will be needed, though the exact footage remains uncertain. The project requires surface-mounted or above-ceiling conduit runs to connect doors to the ACS panel location, which is at an unknown distance from the proposed doors. A 110-volt, 20-amp dedicated circuit will be provided for both the ACS panel and workstation. The system will operate on a standalone, air-gapped network utilizing government-issued CAC cards with no spare cards required. Electromagnetic locks are mandatory for enhanced security fail-safe design, with connection to the fire panel for life safety purposes provided by the contractor. A Master Electrician certified by Virginia DPOR is required. The project is a new installation with no incumbent contractor, no existing Lenel system to integrate with, and no badge printing or connection to other systems required. The 30-calendar-day completion timeline may be extended due to typical material lead times of 2-4 weeks and increased computer hardware lead times.
