About this file

This is a Technical Compliance Matrix template that quoters must complete and submit with their quotations for an Axion BioSystems Maestro Pro Microelectrode Array (MEA) System or equal product in response to Solicitation CBER-2026-135659 issued by FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER).

The matrix requires contractors to demonstrate compliance across thirteen categories of requirements. Core system requirements include a new, high-throughput, non-invasive, label-free bioelectronic assay platform capable of real-time in vitro electrophysiological measurements with integrated impedance measurement capability, supporting both 2D monolayer and 3D biological models (spheroids and organoids) for neural and cardiomyocyte applications. Recording and stimulation specifications mandate minimum 768 simultaneous channels, 12.5 kHz sampling rate, 0.01 Hz to 5 kHz bandwidth, voltage stimulation up to ±1.2V, and current stimulation up to ±250 microamps. The system must be compatible with multiple MEA plate formats (6-, 24-, 48-, 96-well, and 384-well impedance), including BioCircuit, CytoView, Lumos, and CytoView-Z plates. Environmental controls must include integrated temperature (ambient +7°C to 46°C), CO₂ (0-10%), and humidity control without requiring external incubators. The quotation must include all necessary software (acquisition and analysis modules with neural, impedance, and viability functionality), computer, monitor, consumables, accessories, onsite installation within 30 calendar days, up to two days of onsite training within 60 calendar days, delivery within 90 calendar days, standard one-year manufacturer warranty, and an optional one-year performance assurance/preventive maintenance service package. For each requirement, quoters must state compliance status, describe specific proposed specifications, cite supporting documentation, and identify any deviations, with incomplete responses subject to rejection as technically unacceptable.
