About this file
This document is a Single Source Justification (Simplified Acquisition) for a federal contract to provide amphibious seaplane training to the 919th Special Operations Group. The contract is being awarded to Southern Seaplane, Inc. in Belle Chasse, LA for an estimated cost of $0.00. The justification states that Southern Seaplane is the only vendor capable of providing the required FAA Part 141 certified seaplane training program in the U.S. to meet the needs of the U.S. Special Operations Command. Market research was unable to identify any other sources that could fully meet the training requirements. This is a non-recurring, unique type of training, and future requirements will involve market research to identify potential competition.
The related federal contract opportunity is for "AA / Pilot Seaplane and Amphibious Training", awarded to Southern Seaplane, Inc. under contract FA282324P0038 for $37,425 on May 2, 2024. This Notice of Award indicates the requirement received limited competition due to its irregular nature and urgency, and that the market will be surveyed again for future related training requirements.
