Solid penning/gating would be best with openings in the top. These could be stainless steel, powder coated or galvanized metal. https://www.dslivestock.biz/products/category/panels-doors-cattle/ https://www.dslivestock.biz/products/category/solid-panels-doors-goats/

These panels are not necessarily correct but give the general idea.

In this version the unloading/transfer chute is permanently affixed to the axle with the height of the top of the deck/flooring from the ground being ~8”. Four trailer jacks are affixed to the chute close to the 4 corners. To use we would set the jacks and lift the chute to the proper level. This may include lifting the wheel set off the ground. I envision a >/=3500 lb axle and 5000 lb jacks. The tongue would be removable, just like placing/removing a hitch ball into a receiver. When the chute is set up the tongue would be pulled to allow for a flush connection. Placing rubber bumpers along the bottom at both ends would be good. It needs to have gates on the outside to swing alongside the trailers. These gates should be able to meet in the middle to close off the end. The largest and heaviest component would be the floor and understructure. This would be 8’ X 10’. I see the floor being diamond pattern metal either steel plate or aluminum - other slip resistant floor would be considered. In this scenario, the sides and top would be permanently mounted. As stated above, the gating/penning could be stainless steel, galvanized, or powder coated. It would be essential to have a personnel entry into the chute on at least the driver’s side towards the front of the trailer.

It necessary to have a removeable center swinging gate. This could be held in place by a support post being placed in a hole/bracket in the center at either end. The upper portion would be strapped in place onto the upper support (see figures below). If we want the chute divided in half, we could place a second bar at the opposite end and chain the loose end of the gate to that bar.

Yet another option: What about having the ability for the floor to incline? Can we devise some sort of ramp to herd animals up? If inclining the floor is possible, and you can only elevate one end, it would be best to have the end towards the tongue able to be elevate.

Deck/Floor

Center swinging gate – bottom of support post fits into a pocket/bracket on either end of the floor (these pockets/brackets will need to be covered/filled when the post is not used). The upper portion of the support post would be held in place with a movable bracket. If we want to divide the chute in ½ we would set a second post at the opposite end and chain the divider gate to this post.
