About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) outlines requirements for hydrostatic testing and recharging of fire extinguisher equipment for Naval Station Norfolk Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC). The scope includes testing and recharging 81 CO2 portable cylinders (15lb), 14 AFFF portable cylinders (2.5lb), and 36 CO2 50lb cylinders with actuators.

The work requires the vendor to conduct hydrostatic testing and recharging services at their facility, which must include capability for both CO2 and AFFF cylinders/actuators. Key deliverables include hydro testing, recharging, valve rebuild kits, service materials, CO2 gas supply, and environmental disposal of chemical waste. The process involves Ship Force (S/F) personnel delivering discharged cylinders with proper documentation to the vendor facility, vendor performing required testing and recharging, providing QA documentation, and notifying ships when equipment is ready for pickup. Failed equipment must be clearly marked as UNSAT or OOC and returned to the ship for further instructions.
