About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a weather enclosure to be used on a 199" radius horizontal tank. The SOW requires a metal enclosure that provides temporary weather protection for a piping connection, with specific requirements including:

The enclosure must be sufficiently rigid to withstand jacking forces when compressing the gasket against the tank base. The contractor must submit fabrication drawings and objective quality evidence showing three similar completed projects before fabrication begins. Written authorization from Code 2380.2 is required to commence work. The enclosure can be delivered fully assembled or in kit form, with assembly possible using a warehouse forklift and standard hand tools. A minimum of three enclosures are required, and the design must be functionally equivalent to the attached sketches, featuring all-metal construction. Non-metallic items will be provided by others, and specific dimensions are not critical beyond maintaining the 199" radius sealing frame wall construction.

WEATHER ENCLOSURE

Statement of work

(1) Supply a metal enclosure that will provide temporary weather protection for a piping connection on the lower side of a 199” radius horizontal tank.

The enclosure must be sufficiently ridged to withstand jacking forces applied against the base of the structure to compress the enclosure gasket against the tank.

(2) The attached sketches describe the enclosure currently in use. The new enclosures must be functionally equivalent to the existing design. Aside from the radius of the sealing frame wall construction and specific dimension are not critical but must feature all metal construction.

(3) The non metallic items in Figure 12 and Figure 14 will be provided by others.

(4) Prior to any fabrication the contractor must submit a package containing:

a. A complete set of fabrication drawings.

b. Objective Quality Evidence that shows 3 examples of similar projects completed by the contractor.

(5) No fabrication may commence until written authorization from Code

2380.2 is provided signifying technical acceptability of the design.

(6) The enclosure may be delivered fully assembled or in kit form provided assembly can be accomplished with a warehouse forklift and standard hand tools.

(7) A minimum of 3 enclosures are required.
