About this file
This is an AFMC Form 158 that details packaging requirements for military shipments. The form outlines specific packaging and marking requirements including Military Preservation (PRES) and Packing (PACK) standards under MIL-STD-2073-1, as well as commercial ASTM D3951 standards. All container markings must comply with MIL-STD-129 for military shipment and storage.
Key requirements include strict standards for wooden packaging materials to prevent invasive species, with all wood materials requiring heat treatment (56°C/133°F for 30 minutes) and certification from an American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) accredited agency. The document also covers requirements for hazardous materials shipping, engineered containers, and specific packaging data requirements using DD Forms 2326 and 2169. This form appears to be related to a C-130J Props and Spares contract (FA850425RB003) for the Air Force Materiel Command at Robins AFB, requiring these packaging standards for propeller and spare parts shipments.
