About this file

This is a delivery and installation requirements document for a state of California vending machine procurement at Sacramento State Prison in Represa, California. The project involves the removal of twenty existing vending machines and delivery of twenty new machines across three visiting room locations: A Visiting (5 machines), B Visiting (6 machines), and C Visiting (9 machines). The new machines consist of bottle cold drink machines, can cold drink machines, cold food machines, frozen machines, and snack machines distributed across the three locations. The contractor must complete all delivery, installation, setup, testing, and removal of old equipment within 35 calendar days after receipt of order. Delivery scheduling must be coordinated at least two weeks in advance with the Business Enterprise Consultant and Business Enterprise Program Vendor, and delivery staff must obtain required security clearance to access the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) facility.

The contractor is responsible for furnishing all necessary components, providing operator training on coin mechanisms and bill validators, and ensuring preventative maintenance procedures are communicated. All machines must be newly manufactured, not used or reconditioned. The contractor must remove and recycle existing vending machines through an approved recycling center, with barcodes and recycling receipts required for invoicing and payment. A truck with lift-gate capability is required for delivery. The contractor must include trade-in value for existing equipment or declare intent to move equipment to a recycler. Failure to meet the specified delivery timeline may result in contract termination for default. Larger machines may require partial disassembly to accommodate removal and installation within the visiting rooms, and all machines must be set side by side and banded together during installation.
