About this file

This is an Asbestos Survey Report dated May 29, 2024, prepared by AdamLabs, Inc. for the 9th Munitions Squadron at Beale Air Force Base, California. The survey was conducted on May 22, 2024, by Certified Asbestos Consultant Adam Jahnsen and examined three occupied commercial buildings (B1322, B1319, and B24175) planned for renovation. The assessment identified asbestos-containing materials requiring proper removal prior to any renovation or demolition activities.

The survey identified two categories of non-friable asbestos-containing materials: approximately 140 square feet of green glue with black mastic (1% asbestos content, Category I) and approximately 1,573 square feet of glue with black mastic (1-10% asbestos content, Category I). All carpet glue with black mastic in buildings 1322 and 1319 must be treated as non-friable asbestos-containing material based on sample results and visual observations. Building 24175 could not be accessed, so all building materials in that structure must be treated as asbestos-containing material until proven otherwise. The detailed laboratory analysis (Lab #24AB0949) identified asbestos types, quantities, percentages, and friability classifications across 22 samples. Asbestos abatement must be performed in accordance with State OSHA and Federal Regulations by a State of California Division of Occupational Safety and Health-certified Licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor, with containment and disposal managed by the Local Air Quality Management District. An Asbestos Abatement Plan is available upon request.
