Helena – Lewis & Clark National Forest Helena Aviation Center

Trailer Specifications The intent of this document is to specify the order of a dual axle towable trailer. The trailer must have 2 rooms divided with a solid insulated dividing wall and door located in the center for pass through. The trailer will be utilized to transport and to securely store Helitack specific equipment and supplies relating to Helibase and Helitack operations. In order to meet the needs of its intended use the trailer must be purchased according to the following specifications:

· Flat Top Sloped V Nose Trailer not to be shorter than 20’ and not to exceed 22’ in length not including the tongue.

· Inside Height of the Trailer: Minimum 7’0”

· Standard width of trailer - 8.5’ to meet DOT regulations

· Dividing interior wall must be finished and insulated (no exposed wiring insulation or structural components) Office door will set a minimum 6’ maximum 8’ back from the square wall and be centered.

· Rear room length will be the remaining length after the front room dividing wall is placed.

· Flooring and decking if made from wood must have an undercoating to prevent deterioration. Topside flooring or decking must be wearing resistant (normal use) flooring must be rated for E-Track cargo and load management systems.

· Gross Vehicle Weight Rating will not exceed 14,001 pounds.

· Entrance Door to office area on passenger side.

· “Ramp style” Rear Door with standard 12” extension with continuous hinge

· Trailer will have a power package to include (3) 12-volt power supplies under the overhead cabinets above the window.

· Main frame of the trailer will be 8” tube on 16” centers or better.

· Tube sidewalls will also be on 16” center.

· Minimum wheel size of 16”

· LED lighting to be installed in both sides for night operations.

· Custom Cabinet 2 (see drawing) are designed to be lockers and should measure 15” Wide 36’ Tall with a minimum of one USB per cabinet to charge personal possessions. Cabinets should be set flush with the roof.

· Custom Cabinet 5 – must be no smaller than 48” high x 24” wide x 24” deep (see drawing).

· A1, A2, A3 are antenna attachments and should be no closer the 24” to ensure adequate separation for proper performance (see drawing).

· RV style Awning over passenger side door extending down the length of the trailer. Length of awning should be what’s available commercial and not a custom length.
