About this file

This document is a detailed Statement of Work for a spongy moth suppression and eradication project planned for 2025. The work involves treating 21 treatment blocks totaling approximately 25,403 acres across two primary locations: 19,414 acres on the George Washington National Forest (Item 1) and 5,989 acres of state and private land in western North Carolina (Item 2). The treatment will use Foray 76B, an aqueous suspension of Bacillus thuringiensis var kurstaki (Btk) produced by Valent BioSciences.

The project is scheduled to begin on May 8, 2025, with an anticipated conclusion around May 15, contingent on weather conditions and leaf expansion on white oaks. The treatment involves multiple polygons with varying spray hours and production rates, ranging from 0.2 to 4.9 spray hours and 577 to 652 acres per hour. The contractor will be responsible for providing all equipment, personnel, and supplies, and must comply with specified technical requirements. Reporting dates will be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance, with flexibility for adjustments due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
