The irrigation well is designed to pump 800 gallons per minute and has a 9-inch column with 231 feet of column pipe and a 2 1/2-inch column shaft. The well depth is 231 feet with a water level approximately 95 feet deep and pumping depth set at 145 feet. The current geardrive is an Amarillo right angle gear drive (serial number S100A 174829) with 100 horsepower at 1760 RPM, configured with a 6 horizontal ratio and 5 vertical ratio. Work must be performed between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on dates scheduled with the Government Point of Contact. Replaced items shall be left with the research center in a suitable area around the well. The contractor must operate the well at operating speed to prove correct operation before work is marked complete. The place of performance is USMARC, 844 Road 313, Clay Center, Nebraska 68933.

Statement of Work Document

Repair Well 33C

1.0 Background and Purpose:

Scientists at the Roman L. Hurska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) are developing scientific information and new technologies to solve high priority problems for the U.S. beef, swine, and sheep industries. As part of the effort, they require the use of irrigation wells to aid in the production of roughage and other feeds to sustain the livestock that live at USMARC. Two of the irrigation wells are in need of repairs to be able to be used in the coming growing season.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

2.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:

• The Contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, parts, and labor to perform the work as herein specified on each of the irrigation wells.

• The Repair of one (1) irrigation well per the bid schedules listed below.

• Contactor shall be in touch with Government Point of Contact to schedule a time to conduct work.

• Working hours shall be in the time frame of 7:00 am- 5:00 pm on the dates discussed with the Government Point of Contact.

• If components not listed in bid schedule are found to be defective, they shall be brought to the attention of the Government Point of Contact.

• Contractor shall operate well at operating speed to prove correct operation of the well before the work is marked as complete, the intended operation level is provided for each of the wells and is located below.

• Items replaced on the well shall be left with the research center in a suitable area around the well being replaced.

• 33C Irrigation well is intended to pump 800 GPM. It is required for the well to continue to operate at this output. The column is 9”, there is 231’ of column pipe, the column shaft is 2 1/2". Well depth is 231' and the water level is approximately 95', with the pumping depth set at 145’.

• Current pump is a Western Roller with serial number E72384 and the new pump needs to meet or exceed these specifications. A new cement pad (approximately a 3 foot square) needs to be poured under the gearhead after removal of the current cracked cement pad.

• The current Geardrive is an Amarillo right angle gear drive, serial number S100A 174829 with a 100 HP at 1760 RPM. The gearhead is a 6 horizontal (RH) ratio and a 5 vertical (LH) ratio.
