About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) specifies requirements for providing lab benches, casework, and sinks to outfit a renovated soil health laboratory at the SDRU (Soil and Plant Nutrient Laboratory) operated by USDA/ARS in Columbus, Ohio. The contractor must deliver all components within 90 days of award to 590 Woody Hayes Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43210.
The project requires construction and delivery of two long peninsula benches (maximum 18.4 ft) and two short peninsula benches (maximum 5.3 ft), each with 54-inch depth, plus three wall benches with 30-inch depth. Peninsula casework includes various two-door cabinets, six-drawer cabinets, and eight-drawer cabinets in 3-foot widths, along with chair/leg space openings. Wall bench casework includes multiple cabinet sizes ranging from 1.5-foot to 3-foot widths, with specialized requirements for the west wall (including a sink cabinet and eight-drawer cabinet) and east wall (including a sink cabinet and a standalone stainless steel scullery sink). The northeast corner requires a 48-inch open cabinet near the chemical hood, and the south end requires fire-rated flammables and acid storage cabinets beneath stairs. All casework must be powder-coated inset steel with specified gauges (16 gauge for channels/rails, 18 gauge for gables/doors/drawers, 20 gauge for drawer bodies/shelves), stainless steel pulls and hinges, self-closing drawer hardware, and must withstand 2,000-pound load testing. Countertops must be black, 1-inch thick chemical-resistant epoxy resin pre-cut with no on-site cutting required, with matching backsplashes for wall benches. The contractor must provide two 24x14x10-inch epoxy resin sinks, one stainless steel Type 304, 14-gauge scullery sink (4 to 4.5 feet total length with drainboard), and three deck-mounted faucets with hot/cold blade handles and vacuum breakers. The deliverables table lists 25 line items including specific quantities of cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, sinks, faucets, and miscellaneous hardware as needed for installation.
