About this file

This document is a specifications sheet for a multi-spectral sensor system with drone integration requirements. The government entity requires a sensor package capable of vegetation and thermal imaging that can be integrated with an existing Freefly Astro drone. The sensor must include five spectral bands for vegetation scanning (Red, Green, Blue, Near Infrared, and Red-Edge) with wavelengths comparable to the MicaSense Red-Edge MX sensor to maintain data continuity with historical scans. Additional required capabilities include a thermal band for crop temperature monitoring, a DLS light sensor for irradiance and sun angle measurement, and a panchromatic band for pan-sharpened imagery.

The sensor specifications require a 2064 x 1544 pixel resolution with ground sample distances of less than 6 centimeters for multispectral bands and less than 2.5 centimeters for panchromatic bands at 400 feet altitude, with thermal imagery achieving less than 35 centimeters GSD at the same altitude. The system must utilize CFexpress memory cards for data storage and transfer, and the sensor must be physically integrated and wired directly into the existing Freefly Astro drone platform to function as a unified system.

Text version

SPECIFICATIONS | Multi-spectral sensor plus integration with existing drone

We require the following:

• Five bands for vegetation scanning o Red, Green, Blue, Near Infrared and Red-Edge o Should have similar wavelengths to our older MicaSense Red-Edge MX sensor, to ensure data continuity with future scans.

• Additional thermal band for temperature flux detection in crops

• DLS light sensor to measure irradiance and sun angle

• 2064 x 1544 resolution

• Ground sample distance (GSD) of < 6 cm and <2.5 cm at 400 ft altitude for multispectral and panchromatic bands, respectively. GSD of <35 cm at 400ft altitude for thermal band

• Panchromatic band for pan-sharpened images

• CFexpress memory card for data storage and data transfer

• Must be physically integrated/wired with/to our existing Freefly Astro drone
