Requirements / Specification Document
TITLE: External Cavity Diode Lasers
Requesting Laboratory / Division / Group:
Communications Technology Laboratory Radio Frequency Technology Division Electromagnetic Fields Group (672.02)
General Statement of Need:
The Electromagnetic Fields Group (672.02) is assembling a device consisting of two lasers: a 780 nm external cavity diode laser, and a 776 nm external cavity diode laser. This device, dubbed "Sensor for a Laser Intensity Quantum Standard" or SLIQ, will enable Rydberg measurements in rubidium and cesium atoms. This system will enable imaging of high-power lasers using excited states of Rubidium atoms.
