Project Adams Fork & Upper South Fork Toilet Purchase and Delivery
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
The objective of this requisition is to purchase two commercial vaulted toilets for the Rio Grande National Forests Conejos Peak Ranger District. It is a one-time purchase of a standard vaulted toilet of the style routinely used by the Forest Service. The purchase must be designed for these structures to meet ADA compliance and accessibility requirements.
2.0 Background
Vaulted toilets are a common purchase by ranger stations in remote areas, because they provide restroom facilities for both civilians and FS personnel. They are economical, easy to maintain, leave a small environmental footprint.
Additionally, they are readily available for purchase and delivery. A well-maintained vaulted toilet can last for decades, so a one-time purchase is often a long-term investment for the ranger district it serves.
A vaulted toilet of the size and type routinely utilized by the FS includes an extended roof over the entry point, a wind wall, white plastic toilet riser, 6-roll toilet paper dispenser, and ADA compliant construction. The exact dimensions vary by manufacturer but must be of a single vault construction.
Contractor Requirements
3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks
Since the vaulted toilet is placed in a remote outdoor setting, the exact dimensions are less important than the features. Therefore, the following features are requested:
Single vault toilet Brown in color Shake shingle roof Board & batten, barnwood, or lap walls with rock bottom ADA-Compliant construction
Plastic toilet riser Extended roof over entry Wind wall No urinal
6-roll toilet paper dispenser
4.0 Government Furnished
The U.S. Forest Service will excavate and finalize the sites, so the Contractor will only be required to deliver and place the single vault toilets at the designated areas. The Contractor is not responsible for site preparation, excavation, grading, or finishing.
