About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details septic wastewater pumping services for the USDA Forest Service's Nantahala Ranger District in North Carolina. The contract covers multiple recreation sites across Macon, Jackson, and Swain Counties, including locations such as Dry Falls, Whiteside Mountain, Wayah Bald, and several other sites with vault toilet or septic systems. The contract duration is a base year with four option years, with pumping frequencies ranging from one to three times per year depending on the specific location.
The contractor must provide a septic truck, appropriate hoses, a garbage grabber tool, and trash bags for debris removal. Key requirements include completely pumping all liquids and solids from the systems, back flushing, collecting and disposing of solid waste, and potentially recharging vault systems with clean water. Safety protocols mandate wearing protective gloves, ensuring environmental containment, and maintaining equipment in good working condition. The Contract Officer's Representative (COR) will assess work quality, and the contractor must submit invoices within five business days of service completion, with wastewater to be disposed of at a qualified treatment plant.
