About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the repair and replacement of exterior coverings on two greenhouses (Buildings 07 and 17). The project requires removal of existing stucco, foam, and wire mesh barriers from the lower concrete walls of both greenhouses and replacement with new commercial-grade steel siding.
The demolition work encompasses approximately 460 linear feet by 3 feet high of exterior material per greenhouse. The contractor is responsible for all labor, equipment, supplies, and coordination for removal, as well as disposal or recycling of materials through local waste vendors. A dumpster must be positioned to the west of Building 017. The installation phase requires affixing pressure-treated backing material and installing minimum 26-gauge commercial-grade steel siding in "light stone" color to match existing steel-sided buildings. Steel flashing (approximately 5 inches wide) and J-channel must extend over the top and bottom of the siding to prevent weather infiltration. Additional work includes replacing approximately 50 linear feet of 1 1/2-inch PVC drainage pipe on the east greenhouse and 100 linear feet on the west greenhouse, re-attaching drainage lines and two lightning rod cables after wall installation, and ensuring one water spigot on the south end of each greenhouse remains accessible. The contractor must provide a full one-year warranty on the new exterior wall covering. Security requirements mandate that all personnel possess a U.S. photo ID such as a driver's license or passport.

Statement of Work
Project: Repair Outside Covering of Greenhouses, Building 07 and 17.
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Performance Work Statement:
Remove existing stucco, foam, wire mesh outside cover of greenhouse walls and replace with new steel siding.
2.0 Background: Current foam insulation sheets and covering have reached their expected life and need replacement.
The contractor shall demo and remove all existing outside covering of exterior walls and replace with new steel siding.
3.0 Demo/Removal of existing exterior covering.
The contractor shall demo and remove all existing exterior materials covering the lower concrete walls of two greenhouses.
Exterior dimensions: The dimensions of the current exterior covering of one greenhouse is approximately 100 feet long x 3 feet high (1 side); 30 feet wide x 3 feet high (end); 100 feet long x 3 feet high (2nd side) (or 230 linear feet by 3 feet high). Total of approximately 460 linear feet by 3 feet high).
The demo includes all labor, equipment, supplies, material, and coordination for removing the existing exterior barrier from the concrete wall.
Disposal or recycling of the exterior barrier shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
Contractors may contact local waste collectors (Cooks Wastepaper and Recycling 605-693-3363;
Brookings Dumpster Service 605-691-9442; or a vendor of the contractor's choosing) to dispose of current exterior covering.
Position dumpster to the west of building 017.
Drainage Ports
There are 3 drainage ports on the east greenhouse and 4 on the west greenhouse. The drainage ports run into a PVC line that goes to a drain. The outside 1 1/2-inch PVC (approximately 50 linear feet on the east greenhouse and approximately 100 linear feet on the west greenhouse) needs to be replaced with new PVC pipe. The drainage lines need to be re-attached to the 1 1/2-inch PVC, attached to the finished wall and to the drainage on the south end.
Lightening Rod Cables:
There are two lightening rod cables (one on the east greenhouse, northeast side; one on the west greenhouse, southwest corner). These both need to be re-attached after installing the new wall.
Water spigots:
There is one water spigot on the south end of each greenhouse. Those need to remain accessible after installing the new siding.
Steel Siding Installation:
After current exterior material is removed, approximately 460 linear feet by 3 feet high of steel siding will need to be installed. (Each exterior greenhouse concrete foundation is approximately 100 feet x 30 feet x 100 feet x 3 feet high).
Affix pressure-treated material to provide a solid backing to attach the steel siding.
Steel siding will be commercial-grade siding, minimum of 26 gauge and match existing steel siding in color and appearance of existing steel sided buildings. Color will be “light stone” or equivalent to match existing steel siding. See figure 1.
Figure 1
Steel flashing approximately 5 inches wide and J channel will extend over the top of the steel siding to prevent weather infiltration.
A J-channel or similar steel attachment will also be used on the bottom of the wall.
Vendor shall provide a full year warranty on new exterior wall covering after installation.
