Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Field 7 Irrigation Pipeline

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work: Replace a section of open irrigation ditch with 3500 feet of buried pipeline (21-inch diameter) to improve efficiency of water delivery, reduce water loss and reduce maintenance.

2.0 Background: A section of open irrigation ditch is not conveying water well, has four aged intake/discharge structures, four direction changes (two are 90-degree turns) and is losing water to seepage. Changing to buried pipe will cut intake/discharge and number of turns by half and eliminate seepage and ditch maintenance. The pipeline will be 4% shorter than existing ditch and readily tied in with any future replacement of in-line open ditch with pipeline. The line will go through existing easements with the railroad and utilities.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

• Install new intake structure with trash rack, over-sized culvert, and new head wall at new pipe intake

• 21" gasketed elbow with concrete thrust block

• 21x12-inch tee with 140x12-foot spur line and 12-inch alfalfa valve riser and hood in corner of flood field

• 21x4-inch pump-out riser with saddle

• Discharge structure with 21-inch head gate to throttle discharge flow, and rip rap

• Labor to install pipe, modify ditches, accommodate railroad and utility crossings through rights of way, remove trees and install casing spacers
