About this file

This document is the Salient Characteristics for a Sputter Coater required in a federal contract opportunity. The key details are:

The Sputter Coater must be a benchtop or table-top system capable of coating at least 6 standard SEM stubs at a time, accommodating larger and smaller stubs, and applying uniform 10nm or better coatings of non-oxidizing/noble metals and carbon. It must include a touch screen control, be updateable via USB without network connection, measure film thickness, and include all necessary external components like a vacuum pump. The system must have a 1-year or longer warranty, lifetime support, and be compatible with 110V outlets. It shall operate independently without a computer.

The associated federal contract opportunity is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside solicitation from the US Air Force Academy to award a firm-fixed price contract for the Sputter Coater per the stated salient characteristics. Quotes must be valid through September 2024, but award is contingent on availability of funds. The government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation.
