About this file

This document is a Salient Features specification for a Pre-Assembled Port Video Electroencephalographic Acquisition Device for the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Neurology department. The detailed requirements include a comprehensive EEG system with specific technical specifications for hardware and software components, such as a digital video camera with post-record pan/tilt/zoom capabilities, a photic stimulation device with precise control parameters, and advanced review software functionality.

The specification outlines seven key requirements: a pre-assembled EEG acquisition device with automatic seizure detection, a database server for patient study storage, an EEG acquisition cart system with a high-quality monitor, remote access virtual server capabilities, installation and training, a current Authority to Operate (ATO) with the Defense Health Agency, and a minimum one-year warranty. The technical specifications are highly precise, including requirements for computer hardware (12th generation Intel core i7 chips, 16GB DDR4 memory), operating systems (Windows 10 or later), server configurations (64GB RAM, 24TB storage), and network compatibility (IPv4/6, Citrix).

Salient Features for USAFA Neurology EEG Updated

1. Pre-Assembled Port Video Electroencephalographic Acquisition Device with trends and automatic seizure detection

a. The electroencephalograph and its review software must be pre-assembled and prepared for seamless installation for the detection of electrical brain activity in the outpatient clinical setting. All the following are required in its capability in software and hardware: calibration waveform check, electrocardiographic artifact elimination filter, impedance check. LED junction box indicators for each electrode used in the electroencephalograph, a display resolution up to 1600 dots x 1200 lines, up to 64- and one-mark display channels, 16 display colors for waveform-- including waveform display adjustment and freezing. Waveform sweep speed must range from 0.1 min up to 5 min per page. A timer function that contains a manual timer, recording timer, and hyperventilation timer. A photic stimulation device that has a maximum flash energy of

1.28 J/Single with an automatic, manual, and single mode available during stimulation.

The photic stimulation device must have a stimulus rate that ranges from 0.5 to 60 Hz flash steps. The photic stimulation device must have a 1 to 99 seconds in 1 second steps with pause periods of 1 to 30 seconds in 1 second steps. The photic stimulation device must be on a roll-stand, have a dual mount adaptor for a photic and input box, and a LAN converter box. The photic stimulation device must be affixed to a stand with ergonomic function with preference of a base that can rotate, joints that can bend or flex to maximize effectiveness during variable patient encounters.

b. The review program must have the ability customize the montage, sensitivity, high-cut filter, time constant, reference electrode, and display speed. It must have a jump function that can seamlessly maneuver to a specified recorded event under a timetable, with the ability to then maneuver forward manually page by page. It must have continuous, high speed, high speed with pause, manually page-by page, manually second-by-second, and manually waveform centering display modes. The display information must have event indicators, indicate channel numbers, and indicate montages and have a comment section.

c. The acquisition assembly must come with a full motion digital video camera with post record pan/tilt/zoom synchronized to 100ms HDTV 1080p at 60fps camera, high quality audio with XLR inputs, VISCA and VISCA over IP support, and 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs.

Its network protocols must be IPv4/6 compatible.

d. The EEG patient acquisition device desktop must at least have a 12th generation intel core i7 chip, 16GB of DDR4 Non-ECC Memory, M.2 2230 1TB PCIe NVMe Class 35 Solid State Drive, Intel Wifi-5 Wireless Card, and Windows 10 as the operating system or later.

e. The EEG review station must at least have a 12th generation intel core i7 chip, 16 GB of DDR4 Non-ECC Memory, M.2 2230 1TB PCIe NVMe Class 35 Solid State Drive, Intel Wifi-5 Wireless Card, and Windows 10 as the operating system or later.

2. EEG/Neurology Server Storage Solution

a. A database server that will be used to store patient studies after every encounter and be able to communicate with the review station, under the EEG acquisition system. This is an essential component to satisfy the approval to operation certification under the DHA/DoD network. The storage database must at least have 64GB of RAM, have WIN Server 22 installed, .5TB storage available for the operating system itself, and 24TB for storage.

3. EEG acquisition cart system and review station monitor

a. The monitor that displays the EEG recording system and the review software must at least be Full HD (1080p) 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. The monitor must have IPS Panel Technology with high, swivel, and tilt adjustability.

4. EEG remote access virtual server data base

a. The system's software must have the ability to connect to a virtual server for access to remote viewing capabilities. The virtual server must have an operating system running Windows Server 19/22, a 2.4 GHz Quad Core of better processer, 16GB of RAM or better, and must be compatible with Citrix.

5. Installation and training

6. Must have a current Authority to Operate (ATO) with the Defense Health Agency (DHA)

7. Minimum 1 year warranty
