About this file
This document is a Requirement Description with Salient Characteristics for Trimble Airfield Surveying Equipment.
The requirement specifies procurement of a complete GNSS surveying system for airfield applications. The deliverables include two Trimble R980i GNSS Base stations and two Trimble R980i GNSS Rovers, with the rovers requiring a minimum 650-channel ProPoint positioning engine capable of 2 cm horizontal and 2 cm vertical accuracy and including tilt compensation that does not require pole leveling. Four Trimble R980i UHF Radio Antennas are required; these must be rugged "Rubber Ducky" style whip antennas with standard TNC connectors and dual-band frequency capability (450 MHz / 900 MHz) for streaming corrections over several kilometers. The package includes eight rechargeable batteries, four dual-slot battery chargers with LED charge indicators and power cords, and four weather-resistant and crush/impact-proof transportation cases sized to accommodate the rovers and base stations. Two sets of R980i GNSS Antenna Warranty & Firmware Updates must provide 12 months of hardware protection and real-time access to Trimble Business Center/GNSS receiver software updates for network compatibility maintenance. Supporting equipment includes two carbon fiber lightweight tripods rated for 50 mph wind gusts, two lightweight aluminum surveying extension rods also rated for 50 mph wind gusts, and two magnetic mounts with quick-release mechanisms providing 120 pounds of holding force for secure attachment to moving vehicles or metallic survey surfaces.
