About this file

Attachment 2 is a detailed specification document for a Military Working Dog (MWD) Obstacle Course to be installed at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. The document provides precise technical specifications for seven specific concrete obstacle elements, including a dog walk (20ft long, 12in wide, 26in tall), a concrete tunnel (12ft long, 28in high, 48in wide), a stair obstacle (8ft tall, 24ft long, 43in wide with 10 steps), three concrete hurdles (varying heights of 18in, 24in, and 30in), two concrete windows (72in wide by 86in high), and an A-frame (6ft tall, 10ft long). Each obstacle includes specific concrete pad dimensions and construction requirements, such as a 3500 PSI concrete rating with fiber and vibration specifications.

The obstacle course is part of a small business set-aside federal contract (NAICS 327390) with a 500-employee size standard. The solicitation (FA460825QC021) is for purchase and installation of the MWD Obstacle Course for the 2d Security Forces Squadron. Key dates include a site visit on 23 April 2025, question submissions due by 24 April 2025, and quotes requested by 7 May 2025 at 1:30 PM CDT. The contracting agency is the Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command, with the procurement conducted by the 2d Contracting Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base. Notably, funds are not currently available, and the government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation.

Text version

The staircase obstacle surface that the dogs’ traverse will be covered with a non-skid material.

A brushed/broomed surface where the dogs’ traverse will suffice as a substitute for the non-skid material on all other obstacles. The concrete pad should be rated 3500 pound per square inch (PSI) with fiber and the concrete should be vibrated in.

All items will rest on the footing and pad dimensions specified on attached photos.
