About this file

This document contains the salient characteristics and technical specifications for a specialized burner table (CLIN0001) required by the Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces.

The specifications detail requirements for a stainless steel burner table designed to support Babington Airtronic Burners, featuring a built-in 5-gallon fuel system with corrosion-resistant fuel lines, integrated burner stands for secure operation, an 18-outlet tabletop power strip, and quick-disconnect couplings for air and water. Key requirements include durability against fuel corrosion, structural integrity with precise square dimensions, safety features like smooth edges and organized cord management, and modular construction for easy assembly/disassembly. The table must be compatible with DoD-owned burner assets managed by Andersen Silver Flag Flight and maintain stability during high-temperature operations while enabling safe flame function testing.

16 January 2025 Attachment 1 – 554 RHS Burner Table 2025 Salient Characteristics

To be deemed technically acceptable, the following specifications respective to their line items, must meet the follow salient characteristics.

CLIN0001 Burner Table – QTY: 1 each

Material and Construction

1. Material Durability:

- Constructed from stainless steel to ensure resistance to fuel-related corrosion, high durability, and ease of maintenance.

- All finished edges must be ground smooth, and burrs must be removed to ensure safety and proper assembly.

2. Structural Integrity:

- Framework and shelf assembly must maintain square dimensions using diagonal measurements for accuracy.

- Follow welding symbology as detailed in the diagrams to ensure structural robustness.

Components and Features

1. Fuel System Integration:

- Built-in 5-gallon fuel can with durable adapters capable of securely connecting fuel lines and facilitating seamless fuel transfer.

- Fuel lines must be resistant to wear and corrosion, compatible with various fuel types, and integrated into the table for user safety and functionality.

- Fuel facade assembly to conceal and organize the fuel system for a streamlined design.

2. Burner Stands:

- Stable and robust burner stands integrated into the table design to securely support the Babington

Airtronic Burner during firing operations and flame function checks.

- Stands must accommodate varying burner weights while maintaining stability during high-temperature operations.

3. Tabletop Features:

- Stainless steel tabletop with integrated locking grommets to secure wiring and fuel lines.

- An 18-outlet tabletop power strip for powering multiple burners and associated equipment.

4. Additional Features:

- Quick-disconnect hose coupling for air and water with brass sleeve-lock socket to enable easy setup and teardown.

- Aluminum submersible cord grips for organizing power cords and ensuring safety.

- Water can for safe handling and disposal of liquid waste during training operations.

Performance Requirements

1. Safety and Stability:

- Capable of securely holding the Airtronic Burner and all associated equipment during operation.

- Flame function tests can be conducted safely without compromising equipment or personnel.

2. Compatibility:

- Must align with the training requirements of the Babington Burners, giving certified members the ability to operate and maintain the equipment.

- Designed to accommodate DoD-owned burner assets managed by Andersen Silver Flag Flight.

Assembly and Maintenance

1. Ease of Assembly:

- Modular design allowing easy assembly and disassembly for transport and maintenance.

2. Maintenance:

- All components must be serviceable and replaceable without proprietary tools or extensive downtime.
