Project Specifications Summary

This document is a project specifications attachment for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) project file 5-25-029, detailing construction requirements for a pre-engineered pole building at Union County SFWA in Jonesboro, Illinois. The scope of work includes construction of a pre-engineered pole building package with gutters, downspouts, and snow and ice guards, along with related work encompassing general conditions, grading, excavation, backfilling, electrical work, doors and windows, sealants and caulking, and steel bollards. The project specifications establish design loading conditions including a 30 psf snow load, 20 psf wind load with 80 mph wind speed, and 2,000 psf soil bearing pressure. Contractors and manufacturers must demonstrate minimum five years of experience in comparable building systems, with the contractor requiring manufacturer approval for the selected building package.

Acceptable pre-engineered building manufacturers include Lester Buildings Inc., Cleary Building Corp., Economy Builders & Supply, Morton Buildings, Sturdi-Built, Wick Buildings, and O'Neil Building Systems, with provisions allowing alternative manufacturers to be considered if demonstrated equivalent to listed manufacturers. The specifications require materials including No. 1 Southern Yellow Pine for posts and framing, galvanized steel roof and sidewall panels with Kynar paint finish, stainless steel fasteners, and concrete with minimum 3,000 psi compressive strength for postholes and concrete sills. Manufacturer warranties include 40-year coverage against rot and decay on treated posts and paint finishes, five-year warranty on roof leaks and structural panels against snow load damage, and contractor warranty on workmanship and materials for one year. All construction must comply with referenced standards including ACI 301 for concrete, TPI specifications for wood trusses, and Uniform Building Code requirements.
