About this file
This document is a Polyurethane Foam Purchasing Specifications sheet for the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management's Dillon Field Office. The specifications detail the requirements for 120 cubic yards of polyurethane foam with precise technical specifications, including a minimum density of 2.5 pcf, 100% water-blown composition, compressive strength over 30 psi, and minimum 90% closed cell content. Additional requirements include two-part self-contained bags weighing at least 23 pounds, packaged in 275# burst strength boxes with 3 bags per case, and a shelf-life of 2-3 years.
The document provides comprehensive physical and reaction properties, highlighting key characteristics such as high compressive strength (35 psi), excellent resistance to solvents and mold, and a maximum service temperature of 200°F. Specific testing standards are referenced, including ASTM D-1622 for compressive strength and ASTM D-1623 for shear strength. Distinguishing characteristics include ease of mix, high closed cell content, good dimensional stability, and compliance with USCG Title 33, Chapter 1, Part 183. These specifications are part of a federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number: 140L3625Q0072) for a polyurethane foam mine sealant.
