PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR(S)

RAF Alconbury, United Kingdom

1. Description of Services. The contractor shall provide qualified contractor personnel in support of RAF Alconbury’s exercise program. The program consists of exercises such as but not limited to: circuit training; cycling; and yoga. All work shall be performed in accordance with all federal, local laws, regulations, and this Performance Work Statement (PWS) at RAF

Alconbury, United Kingdom.

1.1. Qualifications. Contractor personnel designated as Group Exercise Instructor(s) shall have a current primary group instructor certification recognized by one of the organizations in

Appendix A. Instructors must obtain the additional necessary specialty for step classes this may be received from organizations other than their primary certification. Yoga, group cycling instructors may have specialty certification without a primary group exercise certification if yoga, group cycling is the only class they teach. In addition contractor personnel must also possess current certifications for American or British Red Cross Heart Association

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid.

1.2. Scope of Work. The contractor shall be responsible for creating exercise routines, format, scheduling, and leading exercise classes to eligible military, civilian personnel, and their dependents.

1.2.1. Each exercise class session shall incorporate warm up and cool down sessions.

1.2.2. The contractor personnel shall maintain a head count attendance log for every exercise class session and provide a copy to the Fitness Center staff at the end of each session.

1.2.3. The contractor personnel shall ensure and maintain the safety of all exercise class participants. This involves but is not limited to checking for any potential safety concern within the exercise area and equipment. Any potential concern shall be immediately addressed to the Fitness Center staff.

1.2.4. The contractor shall return all exercise equipment or materials used to its proper location after each exercise class session.

1.2.5. The contractor shall adhere to all fitness center policies when performing work.

Copies of these policies and any other applicable guidance can be requested from the

Fitness Center staff.

1.2.6. The contractor shall provide a monthly schedule of exercise classes to the Fitness

Center staff for review and coordination. The schedule shall be provided to the Fitness

Center staff two weeks in advance for review and coordination.

1.2.7. In case of emergencies, the contractor shall call 911 on any government phone available within the facility. All emergencies or safety mishap shall be reported immediately to the Fitness Center staff on 01480843531 or DSN 268-3531.

2. Work Schedule. The Fitness Center shall determine and provide the contractor the required number of classes per week. A typical week requires at a minimum of 6 but no more than 10 exercise classes, each exercise class session shall be 60 minutes in length. Classes shall be scheduled on Monday through Friday between the hours of 5:00 AM through 7:30 PM. Any proposed change in the number of exercise class sessions must be coordinated with a fitness center representative and the Contracting Officer. The contractor shall arrive in advance to allow enough time to check-in with the Fitness Center staff and prepare the exercise room or area.

2.1. Cancelled Classes. The contractor will be notified 24 hours in advance for any cancelled classes. If the government fails to provide the notice and the contractor personnel is present for work, the contractor may submit an invoice for the cancelled exercise class.

3. Government Furnished Equipment, Services, and Supplies

3.1. Equipment. The government will provide fitness equipment for the contractor’s use in the performance of PWS when available.

3.2. Utilities. The government will provide the contractor access to utilities such as electricity, water, phone, etc. necessary to the performance of this PWS.

4. General Information.

4.1. Hours of Operation. Normal hours of operation at the Fitness Center are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, , excluding US federal holidays and family down days.
