About this file

This document is a Packaging Requirements specification for federal procurement under purchase instrument number FD20302600773-00 (Version 4), establishing military packaging and marking standards for item 2840016310215OK.

All wood packaging materials (WPM)—including pallets, skids, boxes, crates, dunnage, and frames—must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Celsius (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes to prevent invasive species contamination, particularly pinewood nematode. Certification and marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) is required, with reference to International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). Items shall be packaged in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Standard Practice for Military Packaging) and marked per MIL-STD-129 (Standard Practice for Military Marking, Revision R). Shipping containers require marking meeting MIL-STD-129 criteria plus any additional requirements such as unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) names, or OEM model numbers as specified on AFMC Form 158. The specified packaging level is "MIL B" (preservation level MIL), with unit pack dimensions of 24.5" length × 24.5" width × 10.5" depth, weighing 14.00 pounds, and cube of 3.647. The packaging specification was issued by Billy S. Real, Packaging Specialist at 406 SCMS/GULAA, on 05 August 2026.
