About this file
This document contains the Performance Parameters for a replacement Flash X-Ray System required by the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) Hypervelocity Aeroballistics Ranges Facilities. The key requirements include providing a turnkey solution with all necessary hardware, software, interfaces, and performance specifications to meet the project needs. The system must be capable of capturing radiographic images of hypersonic test articles in free-flight and track and recovery testing across three hypervelocity Ranges at AEDC. Critical performance parameters are specified for the X-Ray sources, system interfaces, physical characteristics, reliability, and environmental conditions. The contractor must provide design documentation, installation support, training, and engineering support. Data deliverables include engineering drawings, software specifications, test plans, manuals, and cost analysis. The work is to be performed at the contractor's facility with delivery, installation, and testing at the AEDC Ranges Test Facility in Tennessee.
The related Federal Contract Opportunity is a sole source notice for the AEDC requirement for new Flash X-Ray and Multi-Anode Flash X-Ray Systems. The Government plans to solicit and award a firm-fixed-price contract to Hadland Imaging, LLC, but will consider proposals from other responsible sources.

SOO Attachment 1 ‐ Performance Parameters
Overview: The mission of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) Hypervelocity Aeroballistics Ranges Facilities is to conduct developmental test and evaluation fly‐out and impact capabilities of high‐ speed vehicles in a ground test facility that provides a simulated environment representative of the conditions experienced in operational environments. The Ranges Flash X‐Ray System is a critical system for operations at the Ranges Test Facilities. The hardware for the existing Flash X‐Ray System is obsolete, and replacement parts are not available. Therefore, a replacement of the existing Flash X‐Ray system is required.
The Flash X‐Ray System captures radiographic images of hypersonic test articles in free‐flight, and track and recovery testing in the Ranges Test Facilities. There are three hypervelocity Ranges at AEDC: Range G, Range I, and Range S1. Each Range has its own environmental tank that can be conditioned to simulate actual test environments. Additionally, the Flash X‐Ray System provides timing signals to the Ranges Time Measurement System at time of x‐ray exposure. User interfaces for the Flash X‐Ray Systems include a power supply with controls for operating the x‐ray source.
