Requirement Title: Two-Way Radio System- Motorola APX6000 UHF R1 Model 2.5 Portable Radios

1. Background/Acquisition History of the item(s) required. This request is for the normal replacement of existing portable radios that are currently in use and have reached the end of their service life.

2. Name/Nomenclature of item and quantity required: Hospital Communication System, Radio, Two Way Communication, Qty: 40

a. Briefly describe the functionality of the equipment. To provide secure, reliable, and interoperable voice communication capabilities critical for daily operations within a military hospital environment. These radios support rapid coordination among clinical staff, logistics teams, and emergency response units, ensuring seamless communication across departments during routine care and crisis situations.

1. Compatibility & Interoperability

• Must be fully interoperable with existing Motorola APX 5000 and APX 7000 radio fleet, infrastructure, encryption keys, and programming protocols.

• Must support seamless communication over P25 Phase I and Phase II trunked radio systems.

• Must support Over-the-Air Programming (OTAP) and Over-the-Air Rekeying

(OTAR) via ASTRO 25 system.

• Must operate in UHF Range 1 frequency band.

5. Durability & Environmental Specifications

• Radios must meet MIL-STD-810G for environmental ruggedness.

• Must be IP68 rated (submersible and dustproof).

• Must withstand extreme temperatures, vibration, and impact typical in field and emergency response environments.

The current radio communications system infrastructure is built entirely around Motorola technology. We are replacing only part of the existing radio inventory which requires equipment that integrates seamlessly with legacy models for interoperability, support, and network continuity. Motorola’s APX™ 6000 Series is the only brand that offers the required technical compatibility, encryption standards, and P25 trunking protocols needed to maintain operational security and network cohesion.

c. List specific delivery, transportation, and installation requirements.

The vendor is not responsible for the de-installation and removal of current equipment, nor the installation or setup of the new equipment. Delivery will be made to the address provided below.
