SAMPLE CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN

March 2019

I. GENERAL INFORMATION

Contractor: Sunshine Construction Inc.

Project Location/Address:13800 FAA Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76155 FAA Facility ID/Type: ZFW ARTCC Contact Name: John Doe Contact Phone: 555-555-5555 Contact Email: johndoe@email.com Project Start/End Dates: 3/5/19- 11/5/19

II. WASTE MANAGEMENT GOALS

To divert at least 25 percent weight of construction and demolition (C&D) solid waste generated by the project from landfills and incinerators by recycling, reusing, or salvaging materials

III. SCOPE OF PROJECT

The work will consist of an entire renovation of 90,000 s.f. building and add an addition of 8,000 s.f. The entire interior of the existing building will be remodeled. Existing windows will be replaced and upgrades to the existing structure will be done to increase building efficiency.

IV. STRATEGEY FOR MANAGING C&D WASTE

All contractors are required to take note of what they are throwing away and come up with ways to minimize or eliminate the waste. Minimizing waste is our priority –for example, returning reusable items (e.g. pallets or unused products) to the material supplier.

Our second priority is to reuse – for example, storing reusable products to reuse on future projects.

Our third priority is to recycle. Any materials that can be recycled will be sent to a recycling facility. Sending materials to landfill will only be done if all other options are not available.

VII. MATERIALS HANDLING AND TRANSPORTATION PROCEDURES

Concrete/Bricks Recycle dry concrete. Concrete/ bricks include concrete masonry units, concrete, and bricks. Trees, branches or other organic matter cannot be placed in this container. A 40 yd dumpster will be located south side of building with a concrete only label. Construction manager will schedule a pick up when dumpster is full.

Wood Includes packaging wood, pallets, clean dimensional wood, plywood, OSB and particleboard. Dimensional lumber in good condition will be stockpiled for reuse when short-length pieces are needed. Subcontractors are strongly encouraged to reuse as much wood as possible. Scrap wood that is not reusable will be placed in a 40 yd designated container located on the job site. Nails that are in the scrap wood may be included, but all other materials such as pieces of metal, cardboard or other materials are prohibited. The scrap wood will be chipped for landscape mulch. Construction manager will schedule a pick up when dumpster is full.

Gypsum Drywall In good condition will be stockpiled for reuse and reused as much as possible. If market can be found, unpainted scrap drywall (NO green, brown, blue, or tile backer board) will be placed in roll off containers for recycling. It is very important that the scrap drywall be kept completely free of contaminants such as nails. Construction manager will schedule a pick up when dumpster is full.
