About this file
This is a comprehensive needs assessment template spreadsheet that evaluates a protégé company's capabilities across business and technical areas. The assessment uses a color-coded rating system (None, Minimal, Acceptable, Good, Advanced) to evaluate areas needing improvement under a potential Air Force Mentor-Protégé Program agreement.
The assessment reveals significant gaps in the protégé's capabilities, particularly in purchasing processes, proposal development, business capture, and executive leadership (rated Red). The company shows stronger performance in human resources (Blue) and billing processes (Green). Technical areas requiring improvement include Government customer support, commercialization of technology, and quality systems. The assessment indicates the protégé company works with biotechnology and medical samples, requiring specific attention to HIPAA compliance and secure data handling. Each capability gap is mapped to specific Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements ranging from 1.1 to 2.3, suggesting a structured improvement plan will be developed to address these areas.
