About this file
This is a Cleaning Checklist attachment for janitorial services at the Missouri State Capitol Building, issued by the Office of Administration, Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction. The document outlines comprehensive daily, thrice-weekly, twice-weekly, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual cleaning requirements for the Capitol facility. Daily responsibilities include trash removal and disposal, floor maintenance through machine scrubbing and mopping of marble, vinyl composition tile, and concrete surfaces, comprehensive carpet vacuuming, restroom sanitation and restocking, kitchen and breakroom cleaning, elevator and escalator maintenance, and specialized cleaning of the Governor's Office areas. The scope encompasses specific attention to high-traffic areas, exterior entrance cleaning for twenty feet from building entrances, and janitorial closet maintenance. Additional requirements include spot cleaning of carpets and stone surfaces, cleaning of all interior and exterior doors, removal of cobwebs, disinfection of drinking fountains and lactation rooms, and completion of daily logs and sign-in sheets.
The specialized cleaning requirements are stratified by frequency, with thrice-weekly dusting of Governor's Office wood walls and window frames, twice-weekly concrete floor scrubbing in the Capitol Basement Garage and tunnels, and weekly high-speed buffing or burnishing of finished floors. Monthly obligations include deep machine scrubbing of stone and concrete floors with grout cleaning, interior glass surface cleaning, wooden panel wall treatment with Murphy Oil Soap, restroom wall disinfection, and blind cleaning. Quarterly requirements mandate cleaning around the Capitol dome exterior and interior glass surfaces in specific garages and suites. Semi-annual deep carpet cleaning, annual marble floor restoration using diamond abrasive polishing methods without wax application, and annual stripping and waxing of VCT floors with five coats of skid-proof wax complete the cleaning schedule. The contractor must report all damage discovered and perform any additional miscellaneous janitorial duties as directed by the state agency.
