About this file

This Single Source Justification (Simplified Acquisition) document details a network switches replacement procurement for the Civilian Leadership Development School (CLDS) at Maxwell Air Force Base. The requirement involves acquiring new network switches to increase network connectivity, specifically four Cisco Catalyst 9200 48 Port POE+ Switches, five Catalyst 9200 4 X 1G Network Modules, and five Cisco 9200 Stack Modules. The total estimated contract value is redacted, with funding to be used from a 3400 appropriation.

The document describes extensive market research conducted in August 2025, including two sources sought notices on GSA 2GIT and follow-up communications with multiple vendors. Despite initial efforts, only one vendor was ultimately able to provide all required items through their GSA Schedule. The contracting activity justifies the single-source procurement by noting the existing network infrastructure is built on Cisco technology, and replacing the entire network with a different brand would require a complete infrastructure overhaul estimated to cost significantly more. The requiring activity commits to conducting periodic market research to assess emerging alternatives and explore compatibility with non-proprietary solutions in future procurements.
