About this file

This is a Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) document for an electrical coil (NSN 5950-00-023-8464 ZR, Part Number 335D502G01). The document provides detailed technical specifications and assembly instructions for packaging the electrical coil according to military preservation standards MIL-STD-2073, with both serviceable and unserviceable methods specified as Method 10. The packaging requires two levels (A and B) conforming to ASTM D6256, with identical gross cubic feet (15.930) and weight (400 lbs) specifications for both levels.

The document includes detailed engineering drawings and specifications for the packaging assembly, featuring wooden construction requirements that must meet international phytosanitary measures (ISPM No. 15) for wood packaging material. Key components include corner straps, washers, lag bolts, supports, and wrapping materials, with precise dimensional specifications provided. Special markings and handling instructions are specified, including "Not for Outside Storage" and "Lift by Base Only." The document requires all wooden materials to be heat-treated (HT) to 56 degrees Centigrade for 30 minutes and certified by an agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC).
