HPNGSS JAVAD TRIUMPH 2 – RANGER 7
HPGNSS Quick Fact sheet
TERMS:
• HPGNSS – High Performance Global Navigation Satellite System.
• JAVAD – Company developing devices capable of collecting HPGNSS data points.
• TRIUMPH 2—Specific model made by JAVAD that FIA will be using to collect HPGNSS.
REASONS FOR IMPLEMENTATION:
• Congress mandates (via Farm Bill) that FIA continue to improve “use and integration of advanced remote sensing technologies to provide estimates for State and national-level inventories…”
• Collecting more precise subplot locations augments field data and improves small area estimations.
• All FIA regions have agreed to collect HPGNSS coordinates and data – this supports national consistency efforts.
DATA COLLECTION CREW CORE RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Collect HPGNSS points using JAVAD TRIUMPH 2 for all visited & accessible subplots containing accessible forest land or ACI conditions (all conditions inventory).
• The JAVAD – TRIUMPH 2 must collect HPGNSS points for a minimum of 15 minutes.
• All HPGNSS data points for a plot will be uploaded via Midas Web (use plot packager).
PDR use with HPGNSS JAVAD TRIUMPH 2s:
• Ranger 7s are strongly recommended for JAVAD TRIUMPH2 operation. Ranger 7s have a full Windows operation system which enables complete functionality of Midas to HPGNSS commands.
• Other PDRs like the Allegro can still be used for HPGNSS collection, however you will need to follow the “3.13 - push button record” method, and 3.9 - MIDAS CNTRL CNTRL K copying function on your PC back in the office.
JAVAD TRIUMPH 2 DEVICE:
• 1.25 pounds, waterproof and rugged (specs. link).
• Device storage: holds an entire season of HPGNSS plot data (100 +) without issue
• Battery lasts multiple days — ~32 hours of continuous use.
• No navigation capabilities—strictly for recording high precision GPS.
• No touch screen interface— Bluetooth capabilities link with Ranger 7 PDRs and Midas
• Use with small flexible tripod & level – tripod and level help reduce error in GPS location (positioning at an angle decreases the precision of where the true SP center is located). The tripod and level add 0.43 - .75 pounds.

• Click Add a Bluetooth Device/ Add Bluetooth or Other Device.
• Select Bluetooth Select Triumph2_ _ _ _ _ the number corresponds with serial number on the bottom of your device
• Enter pin and click CONNECT. *contact USFS FIA rep for pin*
• The last window should appear indicating that your “device is ready to go” and the Triumph2 _ _
_ _ _ is successfully paired.
• ** you should only need to do this once for each RANGER 7 used with the JAVAD TRIUMPH
• IF your computer is struggling to “find” the new JAVAD TRIUMPH device, make sure under Bluetooth Device settings, “Bluetooth devices discovery” is set to “ADVANCED.”
2.1.2 PC Bluetooth
• Pairing your PC and JAVAD TRIUMPH2 is optional and follows the same steps as 2.1.1 above. The only time you would need to have the PC bluetooth pairing set up is if you anticipate copying over HPGNSS files from the JAVAD Triumph 2 to the Midas Plot file using your PC via bluetooth back in the office (likely unnecessary).
• PC Bluetooth pairing will be necessary if you are not using a Ranger 7 PDR.
2.2 Remove Midas Tablet Shortcut
• For the bluetooth connection between the Javad Triumph 2 connection to work properly, the
Midas Tablet SHORTCUT, must be deleted from your desktop home screen.

Part 3: HPGNSS Data Collection in the Field
3.1 HPGNSS Collection Summary
• Collect HPGNSS data at subplots with accessible forest land or measurable nonforest (ACI) conditions present as described in 1.26.RM and Appendix C (part 5) of the 9.3 field guide.
• Collect HPGNSS points for a minimum of 15 minutes.
**It’s definitely okay to go longer than 15 minutes, but NOT under.
• Attach the JAVAD TRIUMPH2 to a tripod and level the device. Using a leveling phone app or physical bubble level is recommended for best coordinate data collection.
• It’s recommended to use a Ranger7 for full functionality of Midas commands with the JAVAD.
• If you are not using a Ranger 7, you will need to use the 3.13 Push Button Record
Method, and copy over files using the CNTRL CNTRL K Midas method on your PC.
• In peak summer heat when the JAVAD is not actively recording, try and place device in shade.
• In summer 2024, RMRS JAVAD units had a faulty temperature fuse (under warranty) which caused several devices to overheat. Problem should be resolved for 2025, but shading JAVADS in extreme temps is still a good idea.
3.2 Turn on Device
• Turn the JAVAD on by pressing and holding the power button until lights appear on the front of the device (about 2 -3 seconds of holding the power button).
• When the “satellite” and “position” bars slowly blink green, the Javad is ready for recording.
3.3 Attach Tripod and Level
• Make sure the tripod is attached to the Triumph2 device (the Joby Tripods will screw directly into the bottom of the Javad) and position the device over the center.
• Level the Javad. Recommend using a phone app or bubble level. Use extra care when leveling on a slope. Once level, remove the phone or bubble level from top of the device before recording.
3.4 Prepare to Connect Ranger 7 to Triumph2
• Connect your Triumph2 device to your Ranger 7
• There are two ways to connect to make a MIDAS CONNECTION o BLUETOOTH (Primary method for recording HPGNSS data in the field) o MICROUSB (Secondary method for making connection)
3.4.1 Bluetooth (Primary method for Midas to Javad connection)
• Ensure that initial Ranger 7 to Bluetooth pairing is completed (2.1) to connect via Bluetooth.
• Ensure that the initial set up step to remove Midas Tablet shortcut from desktop has been completed (2.2 above) to connect via Bluetooth.
3.4.2 MicroUSB (Secondary method for Midas to Javad connection)
• Ensure that special Driver is downloaded and installed on the Ranger 7 (2.3 above) to connect via Micro-USB.
3.5 Open Midas Plot File
• Open a Midas plot file through Midas Utilities, Midas Tablet, Hist Work.
3.6 Plot Data/Level HPGNSS Variables
• Open the Plot Data/Level Screen and look for the HPGNSS REQUIRED, and HPGNSS COLLECTED.
Variable short names are HPREQ, and HPCOL o HPGNSS REQUIRED will be automatically populated to 1 for PLOT STATUES that are 1
(Accessible Forest Land) or are status 2 (nonforest) & nonforest sampling status = 1 (ACI).
This field is auto populated but editable.
o HPGNSS COLLECTED is manually entered for EACH PLOT. Enter a 1 if any of the subplots successfully received HPGNSS recordings. You will be able to indicate if individual subplots could not/did not get HPGNSS recordings (under the HPGNSS TAB).
3.7 Midas HP GNSS Screen
• If the PLOT LEVEL HPGNSS REQUIRED and HPGNSS COLLECTED variables are both selected as 1, then the remaining HPGNSS variables will need to be filled out in HPNGNSS TAB. ** Note that File Name and HPGNSS Serial Number will be auto populated.
3.7.1 (H) HPGNSS Screen Variables o SUBPLOT for HPGNSS Recording (short name SubP) – This is the SP location for HPGNSS
1 = SP1, 2 = SP2, 3 = SP3, 4 = SP4.
o HPGNSS STATUS (short name HPSta) – There are only two codes for this variable, 0 & 1.
0 = not collected, 1 = HPGNSS collected at SP.
o AZIMUTH and DISTANCE (short names AZMTH, DIST) – These are the azimuth and distance to subplot center from where HPGNSS points are collected.
0 = collected at SP center Value > 0 = collected at an offset.
3.7.1.1 HPGNSS Offset Clarification
• Offsets are recorded in 10ths of feet and must be within 24.0 feet.
• Recorded FROM device to SP center.
• An offset means HPGNSS collection at SP center isn’t possibly due to a small obstruction. HPGNSS collection is never taken for non-sampled subplots where center can’t be occupied / is inaccessible.
o HPGNSS Serial # (short name HPGNS#) – This is the serial #of the specific Javad unit.
It is autofilled when a file is copied using the CNTRL CNTRL K screen below o FILE NAME for HPGNSS recording (short name FileN) – This is the Midas filename associated with each subplot GNSS file This is autofilled when a file is copied.
3.8 Collecting HPGNSS recordings through Midas (Primary Method)
3.8.1 Fill out HPGNSS Record Variables.
• Once the JAVAD is ready to record (turned on, positioned over SP center, level, and “satellite” and “position” lights flashing green—see 3.2 and 3.3), go to your HP GNSS screen.
• For a HPGNSS record, fill out subplot, 1, 2, 3, or 4 (depending on the subplot you’re on), subplot status (1 unless not collecting) and azimuth & distances for offset position (usually it’s 0 for both if the HPGNSS point was not offset). Leave HPGNSS serial number blank (autofilled later).
3.8.2 CNTRL CNTRL S – Starting and Stopping HPGNSS Recordings.
3.8.2.1 START the recording
• Select CNTRL CNTRL S and wait up to 5 seconds.
• A window should appear that asks “You entered the code for subplot___. Do you want to start saving data on the unit to the file _______?” Select “YES.”
o ** Note that before you can hit yes to start recording, notification windows may first appear indicating the following: extremely low battery, inadequate levelness, and inability to find and connect to the JAVAD (see 3.8.2.2 below). Those issues must be addressed before hitting “YES” to recording.
• After hitting yes, the Javad will start recording in the background as indicated by a green flashing record icon. The Bluetooth icon will turn off but that’s okay!
3.8.2.2 Built in Midas Check for Device Connection, Levelness, & Battery Life
• If the CNTRL CNTRL S function cannot “find” the JAVAD TRIUMPH 2, the following message will appear. Keep trying to connect. Try turning on and off the JAVAD if necessary. If Bluetooth continues to fails, move to a micro usb connection. As a last resort, see the backup push button recording section.
• If the JAVAD is > 30 degrees off from level, a notification will be thrown that blocks HPGNSS recording.
• If the JAVAD has very low battery charge left, a notification will be thrown that blocks HPGNSS recording
3.8.2.3 Record HPGNSS for > 15 minutes
• Let the JAVAD record data (record light must be flashing) for a minimum of 15 min.
• Recommend setting a timer on your phone (not required) or timer on the RANGER 7 to ensure that you record for a minimum of 15 minutes. (Ranger 7 Clock timer 16 min start pop out). Recommend “pinning” the clock app to taskbar.
• It’s okay to record for > 15 min! Avoid going beyond >30 min for file size issues.
3.8.2.4 STOP the recording
• After the JAVAD records HPGNSS for > 15 minutes, STOP the recording.
• To stop recording the HPGNSS point for a subplot hit CNTRL CNTRL S again and wait for notification windows to appear.
• If you have NOT recorded for a full 15 minutes, you will see the following message:
Current HPNGSS collection duration is at x minutes. You can stop the collection in another y minutes.
• If you have recorded for at least 15 minutes, the following message will appear:
- HPGNSS 15 minutes met OK
- The GNSS is currently saving data to the file ____ do you want to stop the collection? YES
- ** it make take a couple of seconds for windows to appear.
• The Javad Triumph 2 recording green light icon will turn off after hitting YES to
Stopping the recording.
• Note that if you start the HPGNSS recording using Bluetooth +CNTRL CNTRL S on a plot, and you wander beyond the Bluetooth range (~35 feet), the JAVAD-TRIUMPH 2 will continue to record HPGNSS data. There’s no break in recording. Once you are back within Bluetooth range, and use CNTRL CNTRL S to stop the recording, the JAVAD-TRIUMPH2 will stop record as normal.
3.8.2.5 Redoing a Recording
When to redo a recording:
• Device gets tipped over and goes unnoticed for more than 30 seconds.
• Device takes a roll down a hill while recording.
• Device is recorded for < 15 minutes.
• Device is accidently moved and left recording (walking between subplots).
How to redo a recording:
• On the (H)HP GNSS screen, select the HPGNSS record you wish to re-record.
• Hit CNTRL CNTRL K to bring up a new screen (this is the copying screen that will be explained in 3.9).
• The top of the screen will list the HPGNSS files on the Javad. The HPGNSS SP file associated with the record should be highlighted.
• For the selected HPGNSS SP file (JAVAD GNSS file) click “Delete File,” “Yes” when the pop-up window opens, then “close.”
• Back on the HPGNSS Screen, select the record you want to re-record and hit
CNTRL CNTRL S screen to START the recording.
• Wait > 15 minutes (keep track on phone or Ranger 7 clock).
• Hit CNTRL CNTRL S screen to STOP the recording
3.8.2.6 Account for HPGNSS Subplot Records
• For a plot that has HPGNSS COLLECTED = 1 (plot level variable indicating at least 1
HPGNSS recording is taken for a subplot), all 4 subplot records need to be “accounted” for on the HPGNSS screen otherwise a plot editor error comes up.
• When HPGNSS COLLECTED = 0 (plot level), the (H)HP GNSS screen should be left blank with zero records filled out.
• When HPGNSS COLLECTED = 1 (plot level), the (H) HP GNSS screen should have a record filled out for each subplot.
o For SPs WITH HPGNSS recordings, make sure HPGNSS status =1 o For SPs WITHOUT HPGNSS recordings, ensure HPGNSS status = 0.
Include a note.
3.9 Copying and Transferring HPGNSS recordings
3.9.1 CNTRL CNTRL K — Screen for Copying HPGNSS Files
• On the HPGNSS screen with an HPGNSS record selected, hitting CNTRL CNTRL K will open a new window.
• The top of the screen shows files ON the JAVAD TRIUMPH2
• The bottom of the screen shows HPGNSS files that have been copied over the Midas
Plot file (this will be blank before copying over files). Before copying over HPGNSS subplot files (described next) the bottom half of the screen will be blank.
3.9.2 Copying over HPGNSS files to a Midas Plot file
• After successfully collecting HPGNSS recordings for a subplot (or an entire plot), hit
CNTRL CNTRL K to initiate HPNGSS file transfer from the Javad to the MIDAS plot file.
Copying of HPGNSS files for a subplot record can be done at each subplot
(post- HPGNSS collection) in the field (goes pretty quickly), or back in the office/car if time is tight.
Copying HPGNSS files can be done by bluetooth (preferred) or microusb
• Within the Cntrl Cntrl K screen window, select the HPGNSS file that is pre-labeled with the name of the plot and the associated subplot.
• The program will automatically highlight the associated SP, but it’s good to double check that the correct one is selected.
• Click “Copy Sub __ File.” A loading bar will appear.
• Click “Ok” when prompted about copying over a jps file.
• The copied file will show up in the bottom half of the screen. Hit close when done.
• The HPGNSS Serial number will appear for successfully copied over HPGNSS files.
• You can only copy over 1 file at a time per subplot. If you have HPGNSS files for 4 subplots, then you will have to hit CNTRL CNTRL K screen 4 times to copy over each associated SP HPGNSS file.
3.9.3 Overwriting /Re-Copying an existing .JPS file.
• If a mistake is made when copying HPGNSS files over, you can override/redo the copying function and select a new file (for example, you copy over the wrong subplot).
• To overwrite and existing copied over HPGNSS file, simply select the subplot you need and hit CNTRL CNTRL K to bring up the copying screen.
• Select the correct file you want to link to the subplot, and hit YES when prompted by a
“Overwrite File?” warning. Click OK when prompted by the “copied” message.
• The new copied over .JPS file will show up at the bottom of the CNTRL CNTRL K screen with a current time stamp.
• ** Note that that if the HPGNSS serial number does not auto-populate, BUT the lower half of the CNTRL CNTRL K screen shows the correct SP HPGNSS file was successfully copied, manually write in the serial number located at the bottom of the JAVAD.
3.10 Deleting HPGNSS files
3.10.1 Deleting HPGNSS files off Javad Triumph2
• To delete files off the Javad, select the file(s) in the list under the “JAVAD GNSS Files” window at the TOP of the CNTRL /CNTRL CNTRL K screen.
• Click the delete button underneath the Javad GNSS Files window.
• It is recommended to delete HPGNSS files off the Javad after the plot is loaded to
Midas Web.
• Note that the “copy” function is disabled when multiple files are selected.
3.10.2 Deleting HPGNSS files from the Midas Plot Folder
• To delete a file from the Midas Plot Folder, select the file in the list under the “Midas
GNSS files” at the BOTTOM of the CNTRL / CNTRL CNTRL K screen.
• You can only select one Midas GNSS file at a time to delete.
• Click the delete button underneath the Midas GNSS Files window.
• The only reason to delete a Midas GNSS file is if it is determined a GNSS file was copied for the wrong subplot.
3.11 JAVAD Battery Level & Storage Indication
• On the CNTRL / CNTRL CNTRL K screen, there’s a battery level and storage space indication.
Between the JAVAD GNSS Files window (top) and the Midas GNSS files window (bottom), there’s indication of how much battery is left (percent and hours), along with storage space (MB).
• The JAVAD battery will start flashing red at around 20% remaining battery
• The CNTRL CNTRL K screen will indicate in red when only ≤ 15% of battery is remaining (~less than 2 hrs remaining).
• HPGNSS coordinates cannot be collected when the battery reaches between 5 and 7% remaining since it might shut down before a full >15 min is reached. The CNTRL CNTRL S function won’t work, and the JAVAD will start shutting down after 30 seconds.
** When the battery is below <7%, you will not be able to initiate recording – a warning will appear when you hit CNTRL CNTRL S to start.
3.12 Midas Validation Errors and Warnings for HPGNSS
• Reviewing HPGNSS Validation Errors and Warnings:
• If you leave AZ and DIST blank (when you are not doing an offset), you will receive an error that must be addressed (write 0 for both unless truly offsetting).
• If a subplot HPSTA is coded 0 (indicating no collection), but a HPGNSS Midas GNSS file exists for that subplot on the PC/Ranger, an error will populate. Either the HPNGSS STATUS must change to code 1, or the Midas HPGNSS file must be deleted off of the lower half of the CNTRL CNTRL K screen.
• If you did not successfully copy a .JPS HPGNSS file over for a subplot you collected HPGNSS data on (HPSTA=1), you will receive a critical warning. Try copying over the file again or change SP HPGNSS status to 0 (with a note) if no HPGNSS file or record exists (otherwise it will be an error later on).
• If you do not have a HPGNSS record for all 4 subplots, you will receive an error at the plot editor/validation level. For subplots you do not collect HPGNSS data for, put 0 for HPGNSS Status with a note as to why you did not collect.
• If the HP GNSS file size for a subplot is below the minimum size that can be processed (e.g., accidentally hit stop a recording prematurely), an error will appear on the plot editor screen
3.13 Manually Collecting HPGNSS recordings via Push Button (Backup Method) **Only use this method if the primary method (connection made through Midas) is not working (3.8) or if you are not using a Ranger 7 PDR **
3.13.1 Backup Recording method JAVAD field setup
• Ensure the Javad is set up and ready to record ((positioned over subplot center, level, and “satellite” and “position” lights slowly flashing green).
3.13.2 Press and hold the record button on the JAVAD to start and stop recordings
• Press and hold the record button for about 2 – 3 seconds until the recording button starts to rapidly flash green.
• Let the Javad Triumph-2 record at subplot center for >15 minutes
• After the 15 minutes recording period is up, press and hold the record button again until the recording icon flashes yellow for a second and then turns off.
3.13.3 Indicate the order in which you collected HPGNSS recordings
• On the HPGNSS screen, fill out record lines in the order in which you collected HPGNSS.
This will help you figure out which HPGNSS jps file goes with which subplot.
• Note that all PUSH BUTTON recordings will have a default file name on the TOP half of the CNTRL CNTRL K screen that starts with “log.” Log is then followed by a number corresponding to the date, accompanied by a letter indicating the file number for the day.
• For example, log0405a, is the first “log” file take on April 5th.
Log0405b is the second log file for April 5th.
• If you do subplots out of order, make sure the correct LOG file is copied over with the correct subplot. For instance, log0405b isn’t necessarily SP2, if you did SP4 after SP1.
• It’s recommended to take a plot level note when doing the push button method to help you keep track of which log file goes with which subplot – especially if copying over files in the office.
3.13.4 Copy over JAVAD HPGNSS files using CNTRL CNTRL K
• For a selected record, hit CNTRL CNTRL K to open the copying screen.
• Look for the “log” file that goes with the selected subplot. Select COPY SP__ file. Then
“OK” when the file copied window pops up.
• The SP .JPS file will show up at the botom of the screen and JAVAD serial number will be filled out automatically on the HP GNSS screen.
• ** Note you can only copy over HPGNSS for 1 subplot at at a time – if multiple files are selected at once you can’t copy over .jps files.
• Copying can be done via Bluetooth (recommended), or Micro usb (secondary).
• Copying can be done in the field “real time” right after you collect a SP HPGNSS coordinate
(recommended), or back in the office.
• All other steps for the push button method are the same as the primary method including:
Overwriting files (3.9.3) Deleting JAVAD and MIDAS GNSS files (3.10.1 and 3.10.2) Checking battery levels (3.11).
Clearing validations and warnings (3.12)
Part 4: Loading Plot with HPGNSS with Plot Packager

5.4 Connecting Javad Triumph2 to Net View and Modem
• Take your charged JAVAD Triumph2 device and plug in your Micro USB cable from the laptop to the JAVAD micro- USB port. Note that you need to have your special jgnss Driver already installed on your PC (2.3.3)
• Double click on Net View and Modem shortcut.
• In Net View & Modem, click on the plug Icon for “GNSS Receiver (USB Serial X) (JAVAD
GNSS,INC)” to connect TRIUMPH 2 via micro USB cord (recommended over Bluetooth).
• If you choose to connect via Bluetooth, you need to have already paired your JAVAD device with your PC the first time you connect via Bluetooth (2.1)
5.4.1 Net View and Modem Orientation
• Once you successfully connect your JAVAD (you will see your device listed under “receiver 1” on the left side of the screen) the following screen on Net View and Modem should appear.
• In Net View and Modem, you can view features like: .jps (HPGNSS) files stored on the JAVAD
TRIUMPH2 device, battery level, and levelness of the JAVAD.
5.4.1.1 Net View and Modem File Display
• Click on “Files” to expand the view and see all .jps (HPNGSS) files ON the JAVAD.
• In this screen you can download file(s) to your PC or delete off the JAVAD.
5.4.1.2 Net View and Levelness Display
• The levelness display in Net View and Modem will show the real-time levelness of the unit. Zero indicates level.
5.5 OAF Update
• The OAF is the license that enables the receiver to collect data. Javad Triumph2 devices will not function properly or collect HPGNSS without this OAF update.
• For most people in RMRS, the OAF step has already been completed. If you received your JAVAD in 2023, then you may not have the OAF update. You can additionally tell if you need the update by going outside and looking at the front panel icon screens after the Javad has been turned on for > 5 minutes. If the position icon flashes orange rapidly instead of turning and slowly flashing green, then you likely do not have the OAF update.
5.5.1 Perform OAF update
• Perform the OAF update for devices that need it.
• Make sure you are connected to the device and your laptop has internet. Within Net View and
Modem select: Update options, From Website. Select YES to the two windows that will appear next. Be sure to keep device connected for this process.
• Wait about 3 minute after clicking yes to both.
5.5.2 Check OAF update success
• Once the receiver is connected, hit the “OPTIONS” screen.
• OAF SUCCESS: Verify that all options have a “---" underneath “DATE.” Dashes under the date column indicate that your OAF is updated.
• OAF FAIL: IF you do see numbers under the date column then try repeating the steps outlined in above and hit the refresh button on the far side of the screen.
• If you are still unsuccessful with the OAF update (dates still appear under the date column indicating expiration), then contact jeremy.hamblin@usda.gov . There is likely an issue of your device being recognized as purchased and activated.
5.6 Firmware Update
• After completing the OAF/device update in the previous step, click Update Firmware, From
Website, Stable version. Select YES if prompted.
• Keep JAVAD DEVICE plugged in for at least 8 minutes to make sure updates finish.
• Once you finish updates, you will not need to do this again unless directed.
5.7 Extracting HPGNSS files from JAVAD using Net View and Modem (back up method)
• Crews should be interacting with all HPGNSS (.jps) files using Midas Mobile using CNTRL
CNTRL S and CNTRL CNTRL K. If file extraction via Midas Mobile fails, then you will need to extract files via Net View and Modem manually.
• Make sure Net View and Modem is open, and you are connected to the JAVAD device (USB recommended).
5.8 Files on the Javad in Net View and Modem
• Any files collected on the JAVAD TRIUMPH 2 will appear under the files window.
• Click the little box with arrow icon to expand the “files” window.
• Within the “files” screen you will see points collected on the device.
• Each file on the Triumph 2 device will start with “log” or the subplot file name.
5.9 Downloading .JPS (HPGNSS) files via Net View and Modem
• Select the HPGNSS files you wish to download by clicking the box to the left of the name and then hit the green arrow icon with the bar above it.
• Once you click the green arrow, a window will appear asking you where you would like to save the .jps files. Within the folder called JAVAD on you C Drive, create a subfolder called “HPGNSS points”. Within that folder create another subfolder called “2024.” Save your raw HPGNSS .JPS files to this location: C:\JAVAD\HPGNSS points\2024.
• If you are saving raw .JPS files manually using Net View and Modem, changing the default file name starting with “log.” Change the name to ST.CNTY.PLOT.FILETYPE.SP_.jps: . If it’s a blind or cold check, call it .QAB or .QAC instead of .STD.
5.10 Deleting .JPS files via Net View and Modem
• On the Net View & Modem “files” screen, the red X next to “log” files permanently deletes .jps files off of the device.
