6. WORKS
6.1. Road Restoration
Restoration of flooring in porphyry cubes
The paving of porphyry cubes must rest on a substrate prepared at the right heights and with the necessary slopes for the disposal of rainwater. The level of the foundation must be uniformly shaped less than:
9/10 cm for the cube type 4/6
12/14 cm for the cube type 6/8
15/16 cm for the 8/10 type cube
18/20 cm for the cube type 10/12
20/22 cm for the cube type 12/14
23/25 cm for the cube type 14/18 compared to the finished pavement.
First, a layer of sand of about 6 cm must be spread on the pre-established substrate, possibly dry premixed with cement (about 10 kg per m2).
The cubes must be placed perfectly close to each other so that the joints are of a maximum width of 1 to 2 cm depending on the type. A layer of sand and cement sufficient to fill the joints will then be placed after which wetting and simultaneous beating with a suitable mechanical vibrator will take place.
In the final phase of laying, any cubes that will be broken or deteriorated will be replaced. The flooring must be smooth and without deformation. The longitudinal or transversal slopes for the drainage of rainwater must be at least 1 1 /2 %.
Sealing of pavements in cubes
An indispensable completion of a porphyry cube flooring is the sealing of the joints, which can be performed:
a) with cement grout: prepare a "drink" in equal parts of fine sand, cement and water and spread it on the previously moistened floor so as to penetrate completely into each joint. This grout must be left to rest until it has started the setting process and, with a pressurized water jet, the thickest part covering the flooring must be removed. Finally, it will be necessary to proceed with the complete and accurate cleaning of the floor with 2 or 3 passages of sawdust, first wet and then dry. It is essential that the sealing takes place quickly, immediately after laying the cubes, possibly still within the day;
b) other types of sealing are possible with special materials as long as they are tested and guaranteed, for example polyurethane resins poured with special equipment into the joints filled with crushed stone in suitable granulometry. Other procedures can be activated with asphalt mastics or with the addition of steel or synthetic fibers.

8. REQUIREMENTS ON QUALITY AND ORIGIN OF MATERIALS
8.1. Materials for structural works
The use of materials for the construction of the foundation and elevation artifacts in normal reinforced concrete and steel is subject to the quality and mechanical characteristics in the calculation report.
Their choice will comply with the requirements indicated in the TECHNICAL STANDARDS FOR
CONSTRUCTION referred to in DM 17/01/2018 - GU 42 of 20 February 2018 , suppl. ordinary.
All structural materials referred to below must be:
• UNIQUELY IDENTIFIED by the manufacturer, according to the applicable procedures referred to in NTC 2018;
• QUALIFIED under the responsibility of the manufacturer, according to the procedures set out in NTC 2018;
• ACCEPTED by the Project Manager through the acquisition and verification of the qualification documentation, as well as through any experimental acceptance tests.
9. Concrete
9.1. Typology
All reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete products must be made using only cements with a
CE certificate of conformity that meet the requirements of the UNI EN 197-1:2006 standard.
If there is a need to perform massive castings, in order to limit the rise in temperature inside the casting as a result of the hydration reaction of the cement, it is advisable to use common low-heat cements LH contemplated by the UNI EN standard 197-1:2006.
For reinforced and non-reinforced structures, both in elevation and in the foundation, the use of cement mix for structural use is prescribed as defined in paragraph 4.1 of the Technical Standards for
Constructions DM 14/01/2018.
The concrete mix is identified by the conventional characteristic uniaxial compressive strength measured on Rck cubes.
For reinforced structures, the use of the following types of concrete is prescribed:
9.2. Cement conglomerate for elevated works
• Exposure class (UNI EN 206-1:2006): XC1
• Maximum aggregate diameter: 20 mm (8mm for floors)
• Concrete cover: 20 mm
• Strength class: minimum characteristic value of the cylindrical compressive strength after 28
• days (EN 206) fck 25 Mpa (Eurocode 2 C25/30).
• Consistency class: S3
24 FAC ENGINEERING ROME/CaputoME
9.3. Exposure class
Exposure classes for structural structural, according to the environmental conditions according to UNI
11104:2004 and UNI EN 206-1:2006
9.4. Components of the cement conglomerate
9.5. Waterfall
For the preparation of the mixtures, only clear water must be used, free of salts and chlorides, non-aggressive, compliant with UNI EN 1008:2003, in such a quantity as to obtain a mixture with good workability and variable consistency between fluid and plastic (S2-S5) , but in any case not less than
180 l/mc.
25 FAC ENGINEERING ROME/CaputoME
9.6. Hydraulic binder
For the packaging of the mixtures, only the hydraulic binders envisaged by the provisions in force on the matter must be used, in particular Law 26/05/1965 n. 595 and harmonized standard EN 197-1 and equipped with a certificate of conformity in accordance with the standards EN 197-1 and EN 197-
2.
The use of aluminous cements is excluded.
The binder should be cement type 425 or higher.
9.7. Aggregates.
The aggregates that can be used, for the purpose of mixing the concrete, must have the usable CE marking according to Presidential Decree 246/93 and subsequent implementing decrees.
To prepare the mixtures, sand must be used in quantities of 0.46÷0.57 m3 with assorted grains of variable size from 0 to 7 mm and gravel or crushed stone in quantities of 0.65÷0.79 m3 with assorted elements of dimensions up to 30 mm.
The aggregates comply with the minimum requirements imposed by the UNI 8520 part 2 standard relating to the content of harmful substances. Particularly:
a) the content of acid-soluble sulphates (expressed as SO3 to be determined with the procedure set out in UNI-EN 1744-1 point 12) must be less than 0.2% of the mass of the aggregate depending on whether the aggregate is coarse or fine (aggregates with sulphate content class
AS0,2);
b) the total sulfur content (to be determined with UNI-EN 1744-1 point 11) must be less than
0.1%;
c) not contain forms of al-reactive or alternative amorphous silica in other objectives expansions on mortar prisms, evaluated with the accelerated test and/or with the long-term test in accordance with the methodology envisaged by UNI 8520-22, lower than the maximum book values in prospectus 6 of UNI 8520 part 2.
The aggregates constituting the aggregate will come from non-gypsum rocks free from freezing and friable elements, free from foreign substances such as organic, muddy, earthy and salty materials, will have a humidity of 2÷3% and comply with the harmonized part of the standard European UNI EN
12620.
The system for certifying the conformity of the aggregates, pursuant to Presidential Decree no.
246/93 is indicated in the following table:
System 2+ (factory production control certification) must be performed as specified in art. 7, paragraph 1 letter B, Procedure 1 of Presidential Decree no. 246/93.
26 FAC ENGINEERING ROME/CaputoME
Lightweight aggregates must comply with the harmonized part of the European standard UNI EN
13055. The system of attestation of conformity is similar to the previous case.
9.8. additions
Any additions in quantities such as not to negatively change the performance characteristics of the cement mix must satisfy the requirements of the EN 450 standard and can be used in compliance with the stability criteria of UNI EN 206-1 point 5.1.6 and point 5.2.5 and UNI 11104 point 4.2.
The compliance of the additions to the relative standards must be demonstrated in the preliminary verification phase of the mixtures (conformity check) and, subsequently, whenever the DL requests it.
9.9. additives
The additives for the production of the product must possess the CE marking and comply, in relation to the particular product category to which they belong, with the requirements imposed by the respective tables of the UNI EN 934 standard (parts 2, 3, 4, 5).
For the other admixtures that do not fall within the classifications of the standard, the suitability for use must be verified according to the application and the properties required for the concrete.
It is one of the concrete producers to preliminarily verify the optimal dosages of additive to obtain the rheological and required performance as well as to evaluate any undesirable effects.
For the production of mixes, the constant use of highly effective plasticizers/water reducers or superplasticizers/water reducers is recommended to limit the water content of the mix, improve the dimensional stability of the concrete and the durability of the castings. in the summertime it is advisable to use specific additives capable of maintaining a prolonged workability of the concrete according to the times of transport and arrival.
For construction joints, it is possible to resort to the use of setting retardants and adhesives for construction joints.
In the winter period, in order to avoid damage deriving from the action of frost, in conditions of ripening below 5°C, in addition to superplasticizers, setting and hardening accelerating additives will be used. chlorides.
For castings subjected to the action of freezing and thawing, recourse will be had to the use of air-entraining additives as prescribed by the UNI EN 206 and UNI 11104 standards.
A summary scheme is proposed below for the various classes of additive according to the classes of exposure
27 FAC ENGINEERING ROME/CaputoME
In the execution of the castings the following rules are prescribed:
1. Accurate vibration of all jets;
2. The interruption and resumption of the jets will be carried out in the unstressed areas;
3. If the temperature drops below +1 °C or in the presence of particularly hot winds, the jets may be interrupted.
9.10. Slurry rheology and granulometry of aggregates
For the packaging of them, aggregates belonging to different granulometric classes are not used. The percentage of use of each single granulometric class will be produced by the producer referred to in the segregation and 1.6 below. Furthermore, the granulometric curve obtained from the combination of the available aggregates will be the one capable of satisfying the installation requirements required by the Company (workability), and those of mechanical resistance to compression and durability by the designer.
The maximum size of the aggregate must not be greater than ¼ of the minimum section of the element to be made, the air gap reduced by 5 mm, the thickness of the concrete cover increased by
30% (also in accordance with the provisions of the Eurocodes).
9.11. Water/cement ratio
The data relating to effective water to be taken into consideration in calculating the equivalent w/c ratio is actually available to the mix, from the following relationship:
With:
a relative aggr of water released or thus taken from the aggregate if respective from a higher or lower humidity content than the absorption (humidity content which identifies the condition of saturated to dry a add aliquot of water introduced through liquid additives (if used in quantities greater than 3l/m 3 ) or mineral additions in the form of slurry;
an aliquot of water introduced through the use of ice chips;
one m aliquot of water introduced into the mixer/concrete mixer;
The water/cement ratio will therefore be considered as an equivalent water/cement ratio identified by the more general expression:
In which:
c dosage per m3 of cement mix;
c v dosage per m3 of fly ash slurry;
f s dosage per m3 of silica fume slurry;
K hp ; K fs equivalence coefficients respectively of fly ash and silica fume taken from the UNI-EN 206-1 and UNI 11104 standards.
28 FAC ENGINEERING ROME/CaputoME
9.12. Workability
The manufacturer of the material will have to adopt the precautions in terms of ingredients and composition of the mix to ensure that the concrete all possesses the prescribed ability at the time of delivery of the concrete to the construction site.
Unless otherwise specified and/or agreed with the mix producer, the capacity at the time of casting will be checked when taking samples for acceptance checks of the conventional characteristic compressive strength according to the indications given in the Technical Standards for Constructions
DM 01/14/2018.
Workability will be measured in accordance with UNI-EN 206-1 after having unloaded at least 0.3 cubic meters of cement from the mixer. In particular, the workability of the concrete will be defined by the value of the depression at the Abrams cone (UNI-EN 12350-2) which defines the consistency class; The values of the reduction to the account can be found in the following table:
Concretes with a consistency class lower than S4 cannot be used.
It will be the responsibility of the supplier to guarantee in every situation the class of consistency prescribed for the various mixtures bearing in mind that adding water to the concrete mixer at the time of casting after the start of unloading the concrete from the concrete mixer is absolutely prohibited. The prescribed consistency class will be guaranteed for a time interval of 20-30 minutes from the arrival of the concrete mixer on site.
After this time, the contracting Company will be responsible for any lower capacity than the prescribed one. The concrete with workability lower than the prescribed one can be, a director of the
DL:
a) rejected (the burden of supply in this case lies with the executing Company);
b) if the conditions exist, in relation to the difficulty of carrying out the casting, to be able to conclude a complete filling of the formworks and a complete compaction.
The maximum time allowed from the production of the mix in the plant to the moment of casting must not exceed 90 minutes and it will be the manufacturer's responsibility to indicate the final loading time of the concrete mixer in the plant in the actual transport document.
It will be possible to operate in derogation of this requirement in exceptional cases when the transport times of the concrete from the batching plant to the construction site should exceed 75 minutes. In this case, the conglomerate can be used up to 120 minutes after mixing it in the plant, provided that it
29 FAC ENGINEERING ROME/CaputoME meets the prescribed workability requirements. Furthermore, in this eventuality it must be preliminarily ascertained by the manufacturer and evaluated by the Works Supervisor that the initial strengths of the cement conglomerate are not penalized due to high dosages of retardant additives used to reduce the loss of workability.
9.13. Air content
Simultaneously with the measurement of the workability of the conglomerate (with different frequency to be stabilized with the supplier of the conglomerate) the air content must be determined in accordance with the…
