DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Industrial Base Extension (IBex)

Program 700 ROBBINS AVENUE

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA

19111-5092

PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS)

IBex was developed to support DOD operations in remote or hostile environments where little or no commercial capability information is known or exists. Bolstering DLA’s ability to rapidly respond to shifting worldwide events, IBex’s strategic partnerships with industry experts allows government planners to leverage the expertise of the commercial sector, and to gain access to those commercial capabilities if required. Moreover, through IBex’s partnerships with industry and its Market Research reports, the program provides industrial base awareness over assets that can be utilized during a contingency or national emergency.

In accordance with the Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE), the below is an IBex Report request. All reports will be forwarded to the IBex Program Manager in Adobe PDF format unless otherwise stated and include information on Taiwanese manufacturers of North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 332722: Bolts, Nuts, Screws, Rivets, and Washers. Specifically, the following information categories are required:

Business Environment Analysis Outline and map (using established network mapping techniques) the current state of the Taiwanese NAICS 332722 Supply Chain Distribution Network. Detail transportation agreements, transportation providers, and potential constraints to transportation throughput. Additionally, provide an overview of the Taiwanese bolt, nut, screw, rivet, and washer supply chain, to include detailed descriptions on:

1. Taiwanese NAICS 332722 manufacturing overview:

c. Describe potential and existing component part and raw material availability or shortages.

d. Detail Taiwan’s warehouse footprint (availability and location of raw materials, component parts, and end items warehousing and distribution points) for NAICS 332722 items.

e. Discuss Taiwanese economic competitiveness, advantages, and disadvantages for NAICS

332722.

f. Discuss workforce demographics, to include required training, available training programs, and potential labor shortages.

g. Describe any other potential or probably supply chain concerns not discussed above.
