Attachment 1 – Statement of Work Emergency Water Supply Well #3 Repair

Introduction/Background: Well #3 was originally drilled in 1969. This well is the Emergency Domestic Supply Well, which is driven by an electric motor and by a natural gas, (150 KW, 277/480V), generator for emergency usage. Issue with Well 3 is described as a terrible vibration and wobble down inside the well.

Scope: Contractor is required to provide all tools, equipment, parts, and labor to remove pump, motor, column, shaft, and associated parts.

• Contractor shall perform a baseline operation test before dismantling to check current operation of system.

• Contractor shall pull, diagnose, and inspect all associated parts of the well, so as to determine what parts need to be replaced.

• Contractor shall supply an itemized list of all defective parts.

• Contractor shall consult with the USMARC Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) before beginning any repairs.

• If components not listed below are found to be defective, they shall be brought to the attention of the COR.

• Contractor shall operate well at operating speed to prove operation at specified flow and pressure when complete. Natural gas generator, electric motor, and controls for pressure, including automatic, “ON”, shall be proven to operate well as before work was performed on well herein.

• Contractor is to provide literature, (shop drawings), and operation and maintenance manuals on those items replaced.

• Any items replaced shall be removed from property by contractor.

• Working hours shall be from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on dates mutually agreed to by contractor and owner.

Offers will bid on each individual item below. It will be determined after removing the pump, column, motor, and shaft and videoing the well, which of the items are to be done.

12. CHEMICAL WELL TREATMENT WITH SONAR JET

Technical Requirements: Well #3 is intended to pump 750 GPM at about 350’ TDH. It is required for the well to continue to operate at this output. The discharge and column is 8”, there is 125’ of pump column, the column shaft is 1 ½”, the bowl is 12”, and the maximum speed is 1800 RPM. Well depth is 216’ and the water level is approximately 100’.

Place of Performance: USDA/ARS/USMARC 844 Road 313 Clay Center, NE. 68933

Period of Performance: 120 days after award

Performance Requirement Measures: A onetime repair of Emergency Water Supply Well #3 per the technical requirements within the expected delivery time.
