Statement of Work Replace Parts for the Feedmill Mixing Leg

USDA/ARS

U. S. Meat Animal Research Center

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope:

It is required to provide all tools, equipment, labor, materials to replace parts on the mixing leg at the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center near Clay Center, Nebraska.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

2.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:

The Contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, parts, and labor to replace the belt, belt cups, head pulley lagging, and pulley bearings. Parts and equipment shall include, but shall not be limited to the following:

1. 10” x 200’ PVC 250# punched belt, 3 punched holes on 3-5/8” centers for each bucket location with 7” spacing between buckets.

2. Approximately 336 - 9 x 6 plastic buckets.

3. 2 Ply Ruff Top 11” x 5’ pulley lagging for head pulley.

4. 2 pillow block bearings, McGill #C-35-2 7/16”, or equal.

5. All bolts, washers, nuts, and any other hardware and material for a complete job.

Operate leg at operating speed to prove operation when complete.

3.0 Shop Drawings:

Contractor is to provide literature (shop drawings) and operation and maintenance manuals on those items replaced. Shop drawing literature shall be approved by owner prior to ordering material.

4.0 Site Visit:

It is required that contractors visit the site prior to bidding to verify existing measurements, conditions, and requirements.

5.0 Clean Up:

Contractor shall keep the premises clean during construction and shall remove all rejected material, rubbish, etc., after completion of work and prior to final inspection. Any items replaced shall be removed from property by contractor.

6.0 Working Hours

Access to the work site shall be from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

7.0 Safety:

It will be the responsibility of the contractor to provide all of their own PPE to perform the work in performing work according to industry standards.

8.0 Material Receiving:

Contractor shall be responsible for receiving and storage of all materials. Material shall not be shipped to owner’s warehouse under any conditions.

9.0 Security:

All contract personnel are required to complete a form to register as being on site and shall Agree to a written statement of conduct while on the property.
