About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the 8,000-hour major maintenance overhaul of High-Pressure Air (AHP) System Compressors supporting a Nuclear Power Training Unit.

The contractor must provide all labor, certified replacement parts, tooling, and test equipment to complete a comprehensive overhaul of multi-stage compressors in accordance with Maintenance Requirement Card (MRC) AHP-R-2 (Rev 3). Specific maintenance tasks include replacement of all compressor stage check valves; replacement of piston rings, piston pins, and connecting rod bearings across all stages; dimensional wear and permissible gap clearance measurements; overhaul of automatic condensate drain valves and replacement of drive coupling inserts; and inspection of intercooler/aftercooler tube clamps and securement. All replacement components must be new, unused parts manufactured to meet or exceed original design dimensions, material, and pressure ratings. Contractor technicians must possess documented past experience performing major teardowns and overhauls on multi-stage high-pressure reciprocating compressors. Work sequencing must maintain at least one fully operational HPAC unit at all times to ensure continuous site mission support. The work area must be maintained in a clean, foreign-material-exclusion (FME) controlled state. The sole deliverable is successful completion of post-maintenance operational testing, specifically a full system pressure test run, witnessed and signed off by the Government Technical Representative.

High-Pressure Air System Compressors

8000 Run Hours Maintenance

Statement of Work

1.0 BACKGROUND:

The High-Pressure Air (AHP) System provides critical support to Nuclear Power Training Unit operations. To maintain reliability and readiness, the multi-stage compressors require an 8,000-hour major overhaul, including complete teardown, component replacement, tolerance verification, and re-certification. Work must be phased to ensure continuous, redundant compressor availability throughout contract performance.

2.0 OBJECTIVE:

The Contractor shall provide all labor, certified replacement parts, tooling, and test equipment necessary to perform an 8,000-hour major maintenance overhaul on the High-Pressure Air (AHP) Compressors. All maintenance and inspections shall be executed strictly in accordance with the Maintenance Requirement Card (MRC) AHP-R-2 (Rev 3) (Atch-02)

3.0 SPECIFIC TASKS & EXECUTION:

The Contractor shall complete the following evolutions per Attachment 2 (MRC AHP-R-2):

Replacement of all compressor stage check valves.

Replacement of piston rings, piston pins, and connecting rod bearings across all stages.

Dimensional wear and permissible gap clearance measurements Overhaul of automatic condensate drain valves and replacement of drive coupling inserts.

Inspection of intercooler/aftercooler tube clamps and securement.

Note: The Contractor shall provide all new, un-used replacement components manufactured to meet or exceed original design dimensions, material, and pressure ratings specified in Attachment 2 (MRC AHP-R-2).

4.0 CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS:

Technicians must have past-documented experience performing major teardown and overhauls on multi-stage high-pressure reciprocating compressors.

5.0 OPERATIONAL CONSTRAINTS:

Work sequencing must ensure at least one (1) HPAC unit remains fully operational at all times to maintain site mission support.

Work area shall be maintained in a clean, foreign-material-exclusion (FME) controlled state.

6.0 DELIVERABLES:

Successful completion of post-maintenance operational testing (full system pressure test run) witnessed and signed off by the Government Technical Representative.

7.0 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS:

All maintenance and inspections shall be executed strictly in accordance with:

Attachment 2: Maintenance Requirement Card (MRC) AHP-R-2 (Rev 3)
