About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) located at 600 East Mermaid Lane, Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. The project requires the removal of three insulated boxes and installation of nine floor drains in the Mechanical Services Building second-floor laboratory. The work includes coring the concrete floor, installing new flush-to-floor drain assemblies with traps, connecting the new drainage system to existing first-floor overhead piping, correcting non-conforming repairs from historical work, and patching the finished floor to match the existing epoxy finish.

The technical requirements specify that all floor drains and piping must be Flame-Resistant Polypropylene (FRPP) conforming to ASTM D4101 and ASTM F1412, with schedule 40 piping matching existing drain systems. Piping shall be installed in accordance with UFGS 22 00 70 for corrosive waste, with all fittings joined by thermal fusion except hard-piped sink trap assemblies. The contractor must protect the existing epoxy floor from damage during removal operations, submit proposed drain locations for approval prior to coring to avoid structural members, seal all floor and wall penetrations with UL-certified sealant conforming to ASTM E814 Class A, and match the finished floor patch to existing epoxy finishes per UFGS 09 67 23.14. The project must be completed within 180 calendar days during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM), and the contractor must provide a minimum one-year warranty on all materials and labor. Contractors and subcontractors must provide picture identification for visitor badges and are restricted to areas authorized by the Contracting Officer's Representative or Facility Contractor.
