Fleet Repair Statement of Work

High Plains District Type 4 Fire Engine 2401 (I-623948)

VIN: 1FVDCYFE2MHMT5270

1. Purpose and Need: To obtain service, labor, and parts required to complete all necessary work items and repairs required by list below to return the vehicle to duty and readiness requirements; based off repair inspection performed by a certified Freightliner dealership and service department.

2. General Service Statement of Work:

1. After failure of vehicle Transfer case, inspections identified that the transfer case was not able to move the vehicle. The failure of a bearing in the transfer case resulted in internal failure of components no longer allowing the truck to move under its own power.

2. Replace the transfer case, including labor.

3. Labor to assess damaged unit.

4. Transfer case replacement will require the following additional parts:

1 install ready remanufactured transfer case, Meritor Genuine; SPECIFIC FIT: transfer case Family: MTC4210XLEC. With 30 day/4,000-mile workmanship warranty.

3. Work Order: All work must be completed by a current certified Heavy Truck Mechanic. A written notice to proceed will be issued by Contracting Officer to the Contractor stating when the work is to begin. Work must be completed by the period of performance specified by

Contracting Officer.

4. Workmanship Requirements:

The repair of parts such as hinges, catches, handles, or knobs shall be accomplished to avoid damaging the hardware or the mounting surface after installation. All parts shall be cleaned of the following: smudges, loose, spattered, or excess welding, metal chips, filings or any other foreign material which might detract from the intended operation, function, or appearance of the apparatus or its equipment. This would include particles which could loosen or become dislodged during the normal expected life of the equipment. Whenever possible, this cleaning shall take place before the parts are assembled.

Threaded parts or devices shall show no evidence of cross-threading, mutilation, or detrimental burs. All screw type and rivet fasteners shall be tight, with no relative movement between the attached parts. All bolts and screws shall not be tightened more than the SAE torque standard established for the grade, screw, and thread type.

Fluids, filters, and other serviceable parts to be repaired and replaced should meet standards of original manufacturer specifications to ensure proper function of the vehicle.

5. Contractor must ensure all parts are available with current pricing to meet the specified period of performance, prior to bidding and or accepting solicitation.

6. The vehicle is currently inoperable at Central Truck and Diesel Inc., Casper, Wy; where a second estimate was requested. Government will be responsible for delivery and pick-up of the vehicle to the approved vendor’s location, within 300 miles.
