Statement of Work
Project Identification Stuart Bathroom Roof Replacement
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
• Contractor shall supply all materials, labor, and incidentals to complete the work described in the contract documents.
• Comply with all contract requirements in all contract documents.
• All work shall be completed within the Period of Performance.
• Work shall be completed for structures indicated in the contract documents.
• See photos in this document and attached maps for building identification.
2.0 Background
• Roof Systems of some bathroom buildings at the Stuart Recreation Area require total replacement.
• The insulation in the rafters may also need replaced.
• These buildings have had active roof leaks for a considerable time.
• Please note that neither structure has electrical service.
• Building 1 and Building 2 were built in 2005 and have similar dimensions.
• Each roof has an approximate gross area of 660 square feet. The 660sf gross area includes the area of the skylights.
o The skylights have approximate dimensions of 47”x30” (not including base flashing). There are 4 skylights on each building.
• Contractor is responsible to verify building and roof dimensions prior to purchase and installation of materials. The given dimensions and areas are not warrantied to be exact.

Contractor Requirements
3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks
Base Bid:
• 0001 - Mobilization o Mobilize to the Site.
• 0002 - Building 1 - Remove and Dispose of Existing Roofing System. Provide and Install New Roofing System
(Underlayments, Sheathing Fasteners, Flashing, Shakes, etc.)
o Remove and Properly Dispose of existing cedar shakes, damaged or unusable flashing, vent flashings, felt underlayment, sheathing, and all corresponding fasteners for each building indicated. Carefully remove existing fascia shield/drip edge and set aside. Reinstall fascia shield/drip edge after replacement of sheathing. Replace any fascia shield/drip edge damaged by contractor operations. Metal rafters, fascia, and other items indicated shall remain in place. See specifications section 024119 for demolition requirements.
o Provide and install a new roofing system in accordance with the contract specifications and applicable references.
Sheathing Underlayments (Ice and Water Shield, Drainage Mat/Breathable Mesh, Felt) All Required and Incidental Fasteners Flashings Cedar Shakes All other incidental items to proper installation of a cedar shake roofing system.
Option Items (If exercised by the government):
• 1001 - Building 2 - Remove and Dispose of Existing Roofing System. Provide and Install New Roofing System

• 1002 - Building 1 - Rafter Insulation Removal & Replacement o Remove and properly dispose of insulation below existing sheathing and between the rafters.
o Provide and install new R-19 fiberglass insulation of adequate width to fit the rafter spacing and of adequate length to fit the space between the peak and the eaves.
• 1003 - Building 2 - Rafter Insulation Removal & Replacement o Remove and properly dispose of insulation below existing sheathing and between the rafters.
o Provide and install new R-19 fiberglass insulation of adequate width to fit the rafter spacing and of adequate length to fit the space between the peak and the eaves.
4.0 Government Furnished
• If the recreation area is open to the public, any open public restroom may be used by the contractor’s employees.
• Access to the interior of the building(s) is not likely to be provided unless otherwise open to the public.
• If necessary, request COR approval 7 business days in advance of accessing the interior of the building(s).
• See specifications for restrictions on work hours and other applicable work restrictions.
