STATEMENT OF WORK

Asbestos Abatement BLDG 10488

WRO - 7129372

SECTION 1: PROJECT INFORMATION

1.1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This requirement is for asbestos abatement and carpet removal for the following rooms: 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 109, 118, 119, 120, 123, 124, hallway between rooms 100 and 103, and two 10x10 areas in front of latrines.

1.2 PROJECT LOCATION: Project 7129372 shall be completed as a routine requirement at or near building 10488 on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.

Project hours are Monday-Friday 0700-1600 hrs.

SECTION 2: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1 WORKMANSHIP: All work shall be accomplished in accordance with all applicable building and fire codes. The Contractor shall field verify all measurements, quantities, or value stated by the Government. Liquidated damages shall be assessed for work that is not finished within the scheduled performance period.

2.2 WORKSITE: The Contractor shall limit the work to the areas indicated by the Government. The Contractor shall make every effort not to disturb or obstruct portions of the facilities still occupied by the Government. The Contractor shall make efforts to minimize interference to Government operations. The Contractor shall coordinate and schedule work with the 673 CES/CEPM office prior t o the start of any operation. The Contractor shall dispose of all construction debris off base at an approved disposal facility.

2.3 SITE SECURITY AND PROTECTION: The Contractor shall make every effort to secure the worksite, allowing only authorized personnel to enter the worksite. The Contractor shall protect the site from damage from weather, vandalism, and/or theft.

2.4 DAMAGE TO EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS: The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage incurred to existing Real Property/Grounds due to poor workmanship at no cost to the Government. Contractor shall not park or drive on the sidewalk or grassy/snowy areas. Damage incurred shall be repaired at no cost to the Government.

2.5 HEALTH/SAFETY: The Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with OSHA and AFOSH standards. The Contractor shall maintain a clean and debris free site at all times. The Contractor shall keep driveways and entrances into and around the worksite clear at all times. The Contractor shall not use driveways or entrances as employee parking or storage of materials unless otherwise stated. The Contractor shall minimize the storage of materials and equipment on site.

2.6 GREEN PROCUREMENT: Contractor must incorporate “green procurement” principles into the design of their projects. Specifically, consult the EPA’s web site at www.epa.gov/cpg/products.htm for a listing of the products that have been mandated as green procurement requirements for purchases.

SECTION 3: DESCRIPTION OF WORK AND SPECIAL INSTRUCTION

3.1 Remove and abate existing cove base, carpet, and asbestos containing materials in rooms - 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 118, 119, 120, 123, and 124. Carpet will be removed and disposed of from remaining rooms with no asbestos - rooms 107, 109, 115, a 30 foot run of carpet located in hallway between rooms 100 and 103, and two 10 X 10 areas in front of latrines. New carpet and cove base will then be installed in all rooms indicated in the request - rooms 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 109, 115, 118, 119, 123, 124, the 30 foot run in the hallway between rooms 100 and 103, and two 10 X 10 areas directly in front of latrines. Room 120 does not require carpet installation after asbestos abatement.
