The netting must be fully attached along all existing fence lines, support points, and cables. The contractor must provide a 5-year aviary netting warranty that explicitly covers UV degradation and manufacturing defects, with repair or pro-rated replacement available for netting that fails under normal, properly installed use. All fees are inclusive of removal, installation, labor, and materials.

STATEMENT OF WORK

National Wildlife Research Center Mississippi Field Station Aviary Netting Replacement

The National Wildlife Research Center, Mississippi Field Station, at 2745 West Line Road, Starkville, MS, needs netting for their research aviary.

SCOPE

Complete removal and disposal of old netting and installation of exterior and interior netting for the aviary.

We need heavy-duty, UV-stable, weather resistant netting capable of lasting for 5+ years and withstanding extremes of weather (rain, wind, ice) and exposure to sunlight. Netting mesh size required is 1-3/4” x 1-3/4”. All netting will be fully attached along existing fence lines and support points and cables with no gaps at attachment points or seams exceeding the stated mesh size.

Approximately 70,000 sq feet of netting will be required for the entire aviary, 60,000 for the exterior and 10,000 for the interior.

All fees are inclusive of all labor and materials for removal of old netting and installation of new netting on a pre-existing cable, pole, and fence structure.

Remove and replace existing aviary netting on a pre-existing cable and pole structure. Netting replacement to be #36 three-strand twisted knotted netting – made into a net with a 1-3/4” x 1-3/4” mesh. Net will be UV and abrasion coated black with a 3/8” rope border on all edges.

Warranty: A 5-year aviary netting warranty should explicitly cover UV degradation and manufacturing defects, offering repair or pro-rated replacement for netting that fails under normal, properly installed use.
