All replacement materials and installation methods must meet or exceed current Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) guidance and applicable crashworthiness and safety standards. The contractor is responsible for removal and proper disposal of damaged components, installation of new guardrail and terminal sections, compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements, traffic control during construction including signage and flagging, and site cleanup and restoration upon completion. All work must be completed in accordance with applicable industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and FHWA requirements.

Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area Fort Smith, Montana 59035

SCOPE OF WORK

The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and traffic control necessary to remove and replace approximately 75 linear feet of damaged guardrail along Highway 313 near 5th Avenue B, Fort Smith, Montana.

The existing guardrail system is MGS Type 2, Class A with wood posts, consisting of:

· 25 linear feet on the north side of the highway (weathered steel rail), and

· 50 linear feet on the south side of the highway (weathered steel rail).

The replacement guardrail system shall include:

· Midwest Guardrail System (MGS), Type 2, Class A wood posts,

· Terminal Section, Type MGS Tangent (TL-2), including all required posts, hardware, and accessories.

All replacement materials and installation methods shall meet or exceed current Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) guidance, including applicable crashworthiness and safety standards.

The contractor shall be responsible for:

· Removal and proper disposal of damaged guardrail components

· Installation of new guardrail and terminal sections

· Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements

· Traffic control during construction, including signage, flagging, and lane control as required to safely maintain traffic flow

· Site cleanup and restoration upon completion of work All work shall be completed in accordance with applicable industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and FHWA requirements.
