ROOF FRAMING
General specifications for Engineered Wood Trusses:
Truss to be 5/12 pitch, 18' span (outside face of stud to outside face of stud), 18" rafter tail (outside face of wall to end of rafter tail), rafter tail to be plumb cut, top and bottom chords to be 2x6. All trusses to have 11 1/4" energy heel.
Design trusses for 100 psf top chord live load and 120 mph wind load. See attached Drawing A-1.
Note: 4 Common Trusses are placed above bedrooms, on 2' centers, and 2' from first scissor truss.
Note: 8 Scissor Trusses are placed above living/kitchen area, on 2' centers, and 2' from last common truss.
Note: Gable End Trusses are placed at both end walls, and at wall separating bedrooms from living area - intermediate gable end truss is not on 2' centers.
Verify length of Top Chord, from peak to plumb-cut rafter tail, along top of Top Chord is 11' - 4 1/2", or 11' 3/12 if drip edge has 1 1/2" extension and bottom of steel is hemmed back over it.
