About this file
This is a specifications document for the procurement of a Tissue Dissociator/Homogenizer with Heater system for the USDA Agricultural Research Service facility in Ames, Iowa. The document outlines technical requirements for a closed, sterile dissociator/homogenizer system capable of both tissue homogenization for RNA preparation and production of single cell/nucleus suspensions.
The key technical specifications require the unit to process up to 8 samples simultaneously with independent operation of each position, accommodate tube sizes from 500μL to 10mL, include heating and cooling capabilities, and not exceed dimensions of 465mm(L) x 285(W) x 185mm(H). The system must have standardized programs for specific tissue types and allow user-defined programming. One unit is required with delivery within 90 days of award. The procurement will be evaluated on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable basis and includes a minimum one-year warranty requirement. The solicitation is being conducted as a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS 334516, with quotes due by December 10, 2024.

Specifications Project: Tissue Dissociator/Homogenizer with Heater
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: Procure a closed, sterile dissociator/homogenizer with the ability to heat or cool samples for use in complete tissue homogenization (RNA preparation) as well as production of single cell and single nucleus suspensions.
2.0 Background: Laboratory requires a closed, sterile instrument dissociator/homogenizer for work in tissue homogenization (RNA preparation), single cell, and single nucleus suspensions.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:
o Unit shall use a closed and sterile system for sample processing.
o Unit shall provide capability to dissociate (to single cell or single nucleus suspensions) AND homogenize tissue completely.
o Unit shall have the capability to process up to 8 samples at one time.
o Unit shall have standardized programs for specific tissue types.
o Unit shall have the capability for “user defined” programming for different biological materials.
o Unit shall not require addition of other medium to complete tissue homogenization or dissociation process.
o Processing tube size shall range from 500uL up to 10mL o Unit shall have an option for heating and cooling samples.
o Each position on unit shall operate independently (i.e. multiple sample types and programs can be run simultaneously).
o Unit dimensions shall not exceed 465mm(L) x 285(W) x 185mm(H). The height of the unit is of particular importance due to the location of use.
o Warranty – minimum one year o Qty: 1.
4.0 Deliverables/Schedule: Unit shall be delivered onsite within 90 days from date of award.
5.0 Evaluation Factors: Lowest Price Technically Acceptable.
6.0 Place of Delivery: USDA, 1920 Dayton Avenue, Bldg 24, Ames, IA 50010
